08 Sightings/Review

I live in west central FL , went to bike night at Quaker Steak and Lube last night and saw some nice 08 hardware. First a black BKing rolled in, this is truly a different looking bike. Like anything new it takes some getting used to. Huge exhausts, very wide tank and ramair intakes. Not my cup of tea but maybe once you put a pipe and get rid of the fender etc, we'll see. Lots of different looking hardware around the motor. Then two 08 Busas one blue one charcoal, stock. The new styling grows on you but the tail and exhaust are areas that coud use improvement in my opinion. The blue was a much better looking bike to me. Then later on a Limited Edition 08 14 rolled in. The bike is flat black with red trim, and the flames change color. I really wasn't into the flat paint. I think it would be harder to keep nice. The red accents on the grills work. I can't wait to see a blue one in person. Then last but not least Steve's 08 R1. The Yamaha fit and finish is excellent. I sat on it and the ergonomics were much improved from the earlier models with a softer seat and slightly more upright riding position. I'm 6' 2" 260, probably on the large side for a litre bike. The porn star red was gloss in some places and flat in others for a subtle contrast. There did seem to be increased babe traffic near Steves bike, maybe he is onto something.....
It was cool to see the new bikes in person, have it cool enough to wear a jacket, and get out for some fresh air on a Wednesday night..
