Pulled this from dragbike.com
Kawasaki 2008 ZX-14 Press
At a density altitude of 3200+ feet, with sustained 12 mph direct headwind, on a track that runs uphill (no kidding) Brock Davidson ran 9.796 at 142.75 mph on an new, stock (lowered front and rear) ZX-14 on pump gas. And oh yeah, the mirrors were still on.
And then Rickey Gadson ran full-track wheelies on Concours with full bags. What fun!
Check out the complete coverage of the ZX-14 press launch on Dragbike.com following Rockingham.

I doubt he was being cruel about it. He was just pointing it out so the ET actually looks like a normal ET when people read it. You can change it by clicking the "EDIT" button under your post.

Thats all we get? They should of lined up a stock busa and a stock zx14. Same track. Or both just lowered. No other mods.

That's a hell of a time for the new 14, But I don't understand Brocks 10.07 on the Busa, that was a bad run so take it with a grain of salt. I weigh the same as brock and lowerd and strapped and NO Clutch mod went 9.89 on my 3rd run. at 145 with a 16 to 20 mph substained head wind so I say I out mph the new 14, so once again I stick with the bikes will be even and .10 to .15 faster then the 06-07's(14's) and don't take this post the wrong way the new 14 is fast, But Brock had a verybad run on the new Busa his 60 ft was 1.799 and mine was 1.612

Just re read Brocks report on his 10.07 run, guess the busa was stock height in the rear. Guess that could hurt his 60 ft.

Does mph really mean that much, i run 9.5s at 144mph bike and rider weigh 878lbs, and i see a lot of lighter guys run 9.5s at mid to low 150mph why is that? just asking a question and i put the decimal point in the right place this time.

Up hill! Hummm. A track that runs up hill. Is that to help slow the rider down at the end of the track or just a crappy track?

It really doesn't matter either way, the 14 is never going to be the dominant bike. Just not gonna happen. I've only been beat by one 14 ever on my Gen-1 Busa with only a pipe and power commander, lowered, and strapped. Now with my 08 that bike will never again beat me. I've beat lots of 14's at multiple tracks. In fact that last one I raced was stretched a bunch and had nitrous and I still beat him to the other end. The one before him spilled it's guts all over the track and caused a 45 minute cleanup. Even with the internet rumors that these things are fast the 07 Busa still outsold the 14 by a 2:1 ratio. My dealer sold both 08 Busas he's received in less than a day each and guess what? The new 08 14 has been sitting there in a crate for weeks not even put together yet. I asked him why and he said because nobody wants it. The 14 is always going to be the three legged dog at the pound. Maybe Kawasaki could recruit some Busa riders to run at local tracks to salvage their racing heritage. That could be the only hope for the 14.
