Your wrong there the 08 does have the tq now, unless you meant the 99 to 07 then your right.

Show me where the 08 Busa has more torque than the ZX-14. I've been seeing the contrary.

Fearsomesuzi is a friend of Bentlys ...They race together ...Fearsome told Bently he was going to post over here just to piss us off ..... I don't know about you guys but if i had a friend like that i would have told him not to post crap like that at a place i like to hang out ...I have talked to bently on the phone more than once and allways felt he was a stand up guy and a friend... After hearing this bit of news from Bently i'm deeply unhappy about the hole thing and i really don't know how to feel about it....Smokin..

It really doesn't matter either way, the 14 is never going to be the dominant bike. Just not gonna happen. I've only been beat by one 14 ever on my Gen-1 Busa with only a pipe and power commander, lowered, and strapped. Now with my 08 that bike will never again beat me. I've beat lots of 14's at multiple tracks. In fact that last one I raced was stretched a bunch and had nitrous and I still beat him to the other end. The one before him spilled it's guts all over the track and caused a 45 minute cleanup. Even with the internet rumors that these things are fast the 07 Busa still outsold the 14 by a 2:1 ratio. My dealer sold both 08 Busas he's received in less than a day each and guess what? The new 08 14 has been sitting there in a crate for weeks not even put together yet. I asked him why and he said because nobody wants it. The 14 is always going to be the three legged dog at the pound. Maybe Kawasaki could recruit some Busa riders to run at local tracks to salvage their racing heritage. That could be the only hope for the 14.

Wow you are right !!! I am going to sell my 07 ZX14 right now !!!! LMAO...

You guys have some pretty thin skin! Everything I've said here has been completely true although intentionally presented with the opposing "slanted" viewpoint. Note that I've personally insulted nobody but that's what I got back (not really surprised). Well, nobody unless someone here is a three-legged dog but I hear they don't type so well. Trust me when I say tell you that there are threads that mirror this one on Busa boards across the whole intradramaweb - the same but exactly opposite. My motto is ride what you like but try to look at facts, not hype. Sometimes hype masquerades as fact. Don't be so hard on Bently, how would he know who FearlessSuzuki was any more than the rest of you? Before that I was "guest" on this site. Well here's what I was going to post after work before the drama unfolded:

I had a Kawi in 2004-2005 and had no problems with it. Two guys at work bought '06 14's on my recommendation and one of them switched bikes with me on a ride, so yea I've ridden them. All in all it's a better bike than the Gen-1 Busa but unless Kawi made more than hp improvements on the 14 the 08 Busa is still my choice. We'll see what 2010 brings for the Busa, 14, and whoever might be in the game by then.

Right now the 08's are so close performance-wise any thread claiming victory based on a magazine dyno shootout or even first race results is worthless. We can debate this back and forth until the next new bike comes out and diverts our attention but it's pointless. Who here has ridden both an 08 Busa and an 08 14 anyway? So ride what you like and let's see what happens at the track.

Well well you should have posted that to start with and not come in here trash talking ... You would have made some friends and might even had some fun ...If you Took the time to read some of the posts most zx14 owners owned Busas before the zx14 ...We know very well the differences between the bikes and we have posted over and over that the 99 to 07 Busa was a great bike ( i Have owned two Myself ) .. You would have seen that most here never put the Busa down ...We have and will put down Busa owners that come in here and smack talk but it's about them and not the bike ..You don't have to own a Busa to get on the list , just ask the R1 guy ....I'm a member at both Busa sites and i have seen first hand trolls like fearsomekawi start trouble and while he does post here at times I don't care for him .....You want to see some real bashers ?? Go to your site and read FalconA or twisted or a host of others that bash any brand other than zook .. If one of our members had posted like that on your site it wouid have been ten times worse and you know it ...

trash-talking is part of the game. It just makes you go home and make your bike faster. If it wasnt for the trash-talking at our track i would be still running 11s. p.s i love my zx14.

That's cool.

I'm just remembering Kerry Bryant's dyno @ Area P having the 06 14 make 4 more ft-lbs of torque than the 08 Busa (98.64 vs 102.60). Both had his slip ons. Granted the Busa needed more break in miles.

Brock's 08 Busa that made 200 hp made 1/2 lb-ft less than his 06 ZX-14 (115.49 vs 116.01). Only difference being the 08 Busa had the more powerful Alien Head exhaust vs the Smeg on the 14.

Looking forward to Brock working on the 08 14.

Trash talkin is ok between friends ( face to face ) But on a web site it takes a different path real fast ...We race and are friends with all kind of bikes , zook , honda and yamaha and there is little to no trash talking going on ....

well busa boy
in 2010 you be riding the same old crappy no updated busa styling took 8 years 1st time
theres no close ...learned this from busa boys like you that stated the busa out did the zx12 even tho it was to close to call 2 tenth gap at most... TIE
so the busa can not be crowned king unless it top the zx14 and it has not done it yet .....

Nah, in 2010 I'll be on whatever looks to be the quickest ride moderately close to stock. Piped, lowered, strapped. Styling is subjective, but I'm glad they didn't change it too much.

the busa didnt have to change because it didnt have any competition till 06 when the 14 came out. I'm sure both Kaw and Zuk will continue to improve both bikes in order to compete with each other from now on. I have an 08 14 and I'm not worried about the 08 busa because I know that they are close enough that it will come down to rider as to who wins on the dragstrip. All this talk of sales seems kinda stupid to me, who cares what sells more, if the Kaw had been out 9 years, then it would be outselling the busa. It will take time for the 14 to catch up in sales. I think both bikes are very capable and very fast. If all of us rode the same thing it wouldnt be as much fun.
