Brock's information from the 2008 ZX-14 Press Introduction
Guys,
I will be doing a complete write up on www.dragbike.com in the very near future.
But in a nutshell; AMA/Prostar is allowing Busa's and ZX-14's into SuperSport next year. They needed real numbers so we set up (Chronic) the 08 Busa and my (Diary 1) 2006 ZX-14 EXACTLY the SAME for the finals last weekend. The time slips are posted in other threads here. Same pipe (alien heads), same tires (Michelin Pilot Power Race both at 32 lbs. of pressure). We even drained the fuel tanks and added a measured 2 gallons of MR9 fuel from the same sealed container and drove them side by side down to the scales before we ran them.
They are VERY close with the Busa holding a slight advantage over the 06 ZX-14.
It will be interesting to see if Kawasaki squeaked out extra HP from the 08 14 besides the new stock exhaust etc.
I am at the 2008 ZX-14 Press Introduction right now and we will be drag strip testing stock bikes tomorrow.
I will be doing some same day coverage (if possible) on dragbike.com.
I am going to be all over the fine folks at Kawasaki to get an 08 ZX-14 into my hands ASAP to test... (If you agree, please feel free to voice this!)
I will keep you posted
Brock
Ps. if you like REALLY FAST bikes....this is the best we have had it since the KZ vs. GS wars of long ago. It's GREAT!!!!

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

What's Up Brock,
In ref to getting a 08 ZX-14 to test, you e-mailed me a couple of weeks ago and told me that Kaw would have an 08 14 waiting for you when you got back from Canada. I'm disappointed if the hadn't got you one yet. Like one of the other members stated, you are one of the best selling tools they have. You should have had one before the dealerships.

Dear Kawasaki marketing dept:
Brock is as important if not more so than Rickey G. in creating a buzz and positive press for the zx-14. He should have received a 2008 the same day Rickey did. With everything he did for the 2006, he's probably one of, if not the foremost expert on the bike.

Got nothin' but love for you Brock. You don't know me from Adam but took the time to talk to me and even called me outta the blue to see how the parts that I bought was going and such. THAT got you a permanent customer for life and I like that you are keeping it real.
I too agree that Kaw shoulda got you a bike ASAP as well. I hope that you can get us some results here shortly with the new '08 and thanks a ton.

I'm really having a problem deciding what to run next year. You're right Brock, this IS the best we've had for years with two top manufacturers competing for our custom. You could be the man to help me decide.
KHI, give the man a bike or I'm buying a 'Busa.

Please do not give Brock an 08 zx14. Let Brock take the 06 zx14. Out dated and lacking the horse power that would allow the Kawasaki name to shine and out perform the new Busa's.
over the top?
No brainer give him the bike.
You want to sell bikes.
Give it to him, let him show the world what Kawasaki can do.

Kawasaki should definately give the man Brock a 08-14 because I believe he will make it out perform the 08 busa.
