I had an 03 NEW in 05, traded it in for my 14 this past June.
The ZX9 is an AWESOME bike that can do it all.

2000 were the fastest and they ran the str8ght line very hard. Had a friend who whipped many Busas, 12s, and 1000s with that bike (without NOS or a big Bore Kit). Miss my 98 though. Shes in the grave now.

I look at pics of my 2001 ZX9R all the time and think I wish it were still in the garage.
As others have said it does it all. And there is a very nice upgrade option for it.

What was so nice about the zx9.
What did i miss, had a cbr900rr, R1, zx12, and zx14
I think the 900rr was the best all round light weight I ever owned.
Fast, smooth, quite, light and reliable until the extended arm and (X) hundred passes.

Jeezuz you gonna put her on a 900? How about something easier and funner to ride (for a girl/beginner) like a SV650S? or that new Ninja 650? Do you want her to be so scared of riding that she quites or seldom rides? You gotta make it fun for her, most ladies might be able to talk the aggressive talk, but cant walk it like your average balls before brains guy tackling a bike too big for them! and half of those guys would bow out, too, after awhile. Get her a bike that is easy to start on but not a moped slow (Ninja 250 or 500). Just my 2 cents...

I completely disagree! I think a 900 is workable for a beginner. The girls I used to ride with all told me that they would have regretted starting small when they began.

My wife went from a 1200 sportster to a z1000 and there was no problem what so ever. She even rode my turbo busa some. Comming from that harley anything will be easy to ride.
