Motorcycle Tech Question....Brake related
This is not zx-14 related.. My clutch lever needs to be pulled in much further than it used to to disengage the clutch on my V-max... I must be losing fluid ...I think...I havent noticed any leaking though. ...Can I simply remove the cover from my clutch lever fluid reservoir and add some brake fluid without having to bleed anything?...I realise this is not a "fix"...just a band-aid so I dont get stuck....Any insights are appreciated.

Sure air wont get in the system by adding fluid. However the fluids, brake and clutch should be changed annually. Clean fluid is almost clear, as it gets old it turns dark. Brake fluid is hydroscopic and over time absorbs moisture. Handy item for changing and bleeding the system is a Mighty Vac, about 30 bux at Auto Zone.....TB

Good demonstration on how helpful and knowledgeable the guys & gals... are here in the ZX14 forum are here to help, even though you own the comp!
I raced a Vmax once and even though he looked like an old codger, he sure as hell opened it up....
Beat him though

I have to change out the clutch fluid on my ZRX at least once a year. It gets dirty realy fast and will affect the feel of the clutch.
