Brock vs. Rickey???
No, not really, but finally some good info on both the 08 Busa and the 08 ZX-14.
Brock's Hayabusa Chronicles: http://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/anmviewer.asp?a=3489&z=2
Rickey's comparison of 07 and 08 ZX-14: http://psychobike.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?s=3fea1c1d236b2c5654374e0cdf48adb0;act=ST;f=1;t=49670
Lots of "facts" there, but I'll bet the Kaw guys and Zuk guys will each see what they want to see.

Actually, the Busa was modded:
Chronic arrived at Atco fitted with our ultra-mod clutch kit (to remove the back torque limiter and smooth the clutch engagement,) a front end lowering kit, and three position adjustable rear lowering links--set at stock height--with the same nearly-full tank of pump gas from Road America that we used for our dyno pulls on the previous Saturday. I was interested in seeing what the bike would do at the strip with a dead-stop friendly clutch and a strapped front end as this represents "step one set-up" to most drag race enthusiasts with a brand new ride.

One thing for sure you will spend more money to go fast on a Stock motored 08 busa than a stock motored 08 zx14 ....One we don't need a clutch mod on our zx14s and second we don't need a upper tree to lower the front end ... I'm sure the busa guys will say it costs them nothing because the 99 to 07 parts will fit on the 08 ....Guess what ...Our parts enterchange also ....

My dealership has two '08 ZX-14's on the floor, one dark blue and one black/red combo. Hmmmm.
BTW, was Ricky's ride absolutely stock with stock cans, cats, no strap, not lowered at alll? If not, then it is even more impressive. I'd love to see Brock and Ricky go ahead and do both bikes up with exhaust systems and all that and get it on.

Actually, 9.76 wasn't even BONE stock. It was strapped up front and had the clutch mod.
9.32 run also included lowering of the rear end, mirrors removed and the 0 weight oil.
Brock was smart in his wording.
"The 2008 Busa is strongest machine in stock trim we have ever tested-period".
Strongest doesn't mean quickest and he has yet to test an 08 ZX-14.

Smokin' if you get a '08, I will too. It will have to be silver though as I do not like the blue enuff and damn sure can't handle the black/red junk.

Also like brocks article says all of the parts arent interchangable. They could change the gearing because it different on the 08 busa. Rickey is getting the power with the flies still in. They make me want to trade in my 06. Maybe ill just get some 08 parts and swap them on my extra motor. Problem solved

fuk it, we can just all put a Mr. Turbo kit on our '06 bikes and be done with it. wada ya say?
At least that is what I was seriously thinking about doing anyways but if Kaw did some upgrades to the frame area, better head, injector angle, made it to where the bike doesn't have that noise on start up, then a trade-in for me would be worth it. Damn, I only owe $3500 on the bike too and it has a whopping 2300 miles on it.
Decisions, decisions.
