Steve I predict sooner or later someone is going to lighten and modify a 14 or Busa for roadracing, then you will come across him on the track. And you won't be very happy! lol You above all should appreciate how much skill can make up for, and that any big bike can be lightened up and made to turn in easier, brake faster, and flick easier with the right mods. And the cornering clearance issue isnt that big of an issue. The 14 lean angles arent that bad stock, with good rear sets and a guy who knows how to hang off properly (no fellas, sticking your knee out and down so it hits the ground sooner IS NOT leaning off. When you ass is the same distance from the ground as your knee THATS hanging off.) Not dogging your riding skills one bit, just that unless you are on one narly tight track the power differential of a 14 can easily offset the minor gain your 600 will have in the corners. Ridden right - like they stole it!- of course. The biggest issue guys would have with track racing a big bike like that is the fact that every other bike out there will be gunning for you. Every guy will go full out around you, even on open track days. The idea of there big bad bike getting owned by a smaller bike is no doubt the reason you rarely ever even hear about a 14 or Busa on a track. Same reason most guys in newer Vette's, Vipers, and Porsches wont race a built Camaro or Supra on the street. It's a lose/draw situation for there ego's. And the few that did race me always were in the 'lose' category! except for that twin turbo AWD 911Turbo in Kirkland... Should have tried him from a roll!

Ya sure, not likely anytime soon...it's been years that these bikes have been around and not many have been sucessful doing what you claim...why would anyone bother anyway? Today's liter bikes can stay with big bores and even beat them on the strip with the right rider. You really think someone would go through all that trouble make a ZX14 or Busa handle like a race bike when all they have to do is add some more juice to a 1000?
