Guys, the Busa II and ZX14 are so close in displacement/power/torque/aeros in stock trim that it's anyone's race. With stock bikes this close in performance, the lighter and more aerodynamic rider will win 99.9% of the time in an LSR event due to sheer physics, not mechanical superiority like so many new riders seem to believe.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we're all going to have to wait and see which bike will respond better to modification. With all the new EurIII emissions standards placed on all these new bikes, we're really getting these bikes in a neuterd trim.

They are so close that there's no reason for me to trade. With Suzuki not totally trumping the 14 with less weight, more HP, better styling/looks, they saved me from pulling about 11-12K out of my savings account

The change of pace relative to the 14 at the top end was due to the 14 rider cioming off earlier and braking earlier. The clue is the flashy bright red thing that glowed on the back of the 14 while the Busas revs remained pinned.
At near top speeds, you'd need at least a 50 shot to make that much of a change of pace at 190mph.
If I were a Busa fan I'd be pretty hacked off by that. The 14 just seemed to keep fucking off. Early on the Busa is not revving highly enough out of the corners but later on he is ripping the tits off it and it makes no difference. The 14 just fucks off.
The new 14 looks to have it covered and you have to say owners of the 06/07 14 will not be too worried now as that 14 looked totally standard.

looks like the 14 had better acceleration from end of corners going to the straight way and pull away some from busa but then busa caught him on straight way.

imho, the only part of that whole video that would matter is the very beginning when they both take off. after that your are dealing with other factors such as corner speed, the drafting effect,etc.,etc. But with that being said it looked pretty even to me except on one straight when it looke like the bus was pulling on the 14. ( enter other factors here)

Rider most likely -- not bike. That fucking Busa's got gobs of power and no secondaries to slow it down, how could it not be as fast, or faster in the curves? That's why I say it's the rider.

You could tell the busa was not in it all the time, the revs were not picking up as fast as when the busa toured the cct itself.
The bikes are so close 30 lbs of rider weight, or a single short shift would swing the outcome...
I'm not in denial, The 06-07 will require flies out, and headwork to compete with a stock 08 Hayabusa.
Then they will be even.

You can make up all the stories you like, but this airfield day proves only that they were not seriously competing against each other. Why not look at the only serious comparo so far between these bikes and kawasuki got spanked in acceleration and top speed lol
http://www.zx14ninja.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=8124
and look at the top gear 60-160 time for zx14 ! it would get spanked by just about any 1000cc+ bike ( 60-160 in top gear) i know thats km/h but still...
and you talk like its faster than 2008 busa lol

In any case people interpret that video differently i saw zx14 being reeled in 2-3 times
someone else saw kawasaki pulling away so without the all the facts its all worthless

Both bikes appear to be stock. I know the 14 will not take it to the rev limit in stock form. In the video the busa was pinned at 11k on the top end. Do the bikes over there not have limiters. Now take it how you want but i saw the 14 pulling from the busa. And everyone that has ridden both bikes no a 14 handles and corners better than a busa.

busa guys just want let go, they both good bikes, but by this video, the 14 got him, just watch the beginng of the video ,an busa folks explain to me what u see...

Anybody else here up for making a video of two 14's "roadracing" each other? The only requirement is the 14 has to stay nearly vertical at all times. You can only hang off the bike to make it turn. We can throw in a couple Harleys since they cant lean anyways. Then we'll post it on the Busa forums so they can comment on how talented we are. Then we race them for $$$

I concur the begining race between the two tells the tale...can clearly see the ZX-14 guy tuck down and bye bye busa... the other pulls in the video were never coordinated or had both bikes near matched when opening up...
Not looking good for the 2008 Busa.. the 2008 ZX-14 should just finish nailing it's coffin...
Will say...The Busa is never far behind .. it hauls hard and deserves credit.. like it has been said...mods , rider skill and rider weight will do all kinds of difference in the outcome on tracks and streets ect......
But ...stock to stock (all things being equal) I see the ZX-14 as the undusputed champion myself.. no doubt here...
Have fun!!

Great Vid!!!
Thats the sort of bike to bike comparison i like to see!
Now, if those riders were to swap bikes and do, say 5 laps each - then that to me is how to compare bikes...
It was great to see the 14 pull away from the busa, and visa-vera.
I thought the Busa was catching up to the 14 in the long fast stretchs - but the 14 rider was braking earlier from what i could see,
Really nice.
Do that sort of vid with a STOCK 08 14 and 08 Busa (swap the riders for 5 laps), and that will answer ALL the questions.
