Well i geuss its time 2 change the plugs on my 14, Ive3 been spraying all yr. I know a fresh set wouldnt hurt. I got the plugs out and they look great. Just wondering if theres a performance gain with any others out there? It has the stock ngk cr9eia. Would the cr9e be good? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Please tell me the plug and what hp shot u guys are using. Im running 60 wet. progressive. thanks

Rick - You are using the oem plug ??(CR9EIX) That is a platinum plug, I have heard not good with nos.
The colder CR10E is the better plug to use. It has a heavier electrode, gap it to 0.020
At least this is what I have been told, do you retard the ing. any?
I just ran with a 45 shot all weekend, going to pull the plugs and see how it faired.
Glad to hear you aren't showing any wear with the stk plugs.

plugs
Yeh im using the stock plug. Ive pulled 3 degrees out also. Works pretty good. Plugs look great. If i go with the cr9e it has a bigger electrode right? Or if i go with the 10 would it slow down (being a colder plug)? Im not gonna go up over 60 with my stock engine. Ive been thinking of getting new (aftermarket) rods this winter. And some head work. Then i should be bulletproof. Then ill go 100 shot. Just need 2 know a lil about plugs right now. thanks.

CR9E or CR10E either will be fine, 10 is better for more high speed riding.
The tiny electrode on the oem plug tends to get burnt away with the high cyl pressure and heat.

Where do u live? Maybe you could come see it. I cant ride good , but ive gone 9.00 at 163. Crappy 1.60 sixty foot. Oh and im 220 lbs. Usually run faster on motor in the 60 foot, alot of shit going on when sprayin. Alot of buttons etc.Get a universal wet kit. Then plumb it up.No pics right now. But i put nozzles in the rubber stacks, the silenoids in the battery box, electronics in tail, bottle in front tire. I had it apart an hr ago, if i knew you needed pics. But im not taking apart (racing 2night). A dry kit works pretty well on these 14s also . Easy 2 install also.

I know this thread is dead, but I was researching past threads on what spark plugs to go with.
I thought the CR9EIX was an iridium plug. Is that the same as platinum? NGK claims that it is safe with nitrous.
I have used the NGK iridiums in my old ZX-11 and they seem to hold up much better than standard.
I have a 40 hp dry shot in my 14 and am wondering what plug I need to go with. I am leaning toward trying the iridium out this spring.
Anybody know anything about these plugs NGK R0045Q-10? Some say you more power just by popping them in. How long do they last?

NGK R0045Q-10 are the plugs I have been using for years in Super Sport bikes and in my Super Street bike. Actually used a 2 year old set the first half of this year then put in a new set. Work great on NOS or motor only but pricey, $20 each from sparkplugs.com

Where do you see these @ $20 each? I see them for like $68.95 each on that site.
I will be doing the majority of my riding on the street, but will be hitting the drag strip on a regular basis.
For those of you that use the CR10E or EK, do you think you lose power on just motor as compared to the stock plug?

Holy cow! Just checked on that. I paid $20 each for them last year. I'd still use em again.
