Corbin Bags/Corbin problems

I have decided to buy a ZX-14 and I am awaiting the 2008 model. I want the Corbin bags for the bike. I now question the Corbin purchase. I have been reading the post 'corbin peg lowering'. With such concerns over the peg kit I am not sure if the bags are such a good idea.I also noted a post discussing clearance issues with the exhaust if the bags are loaded. Does anyone have any comment for me?

The Corbin are so expensive that you would be better off just getting a Concours 14 if you want hard bags. Otherwise there are other bags both hard and soft that will do the job.

Like Faster says, go with the Concourse if you want hard bags. I decided to get these and I can take it on and off in about 30 seconds and it carries more then the Corbins.

I understand it's a pretty good bike but it's not really my style. The cost is quite high and too touring. I lean more to the sport side. Also I am 5'8 and the bike does not feel very comfortable. There is to much weight and the cost is very high. Soft bgs are not going to work and the look of the bags on the bike is very important. I have yet to see anything better (sport wise) than the corbin bags on the ZX. Givi are ok but no Corbin for looks. I am willing to pay the price if the quality is there. My concerns is fit on the bike. If you load the bags and they rest on the exhaust that is a problem. More of a problem if Corbin service sucks.
BTW I am new here so.. Howdy. At present I am on a 2007 Z-1000 and really want a 14. I am Canadian Eh. Canada has not yet released price (or even information) on the 2008. I had my heart set on the 14 but if the Corbin bags are a problem I may have to consider something else.

The corbin pegs are horrible IMO. Mainly just the fastners supplied.

The bags have heard nothing bu good things about though. All 4 of the people who have bought them loved.

It is alot of cash, but for hardbags they look the best. I pick up the bike tomorow (couldnt wait for 2008) I would like to get them on right away. I left a message with Corbin Canada. I will try them again tomorow.

Good luck with "Philet your ass" at Corbin Canada.
I would never deal with him again.
I usually won't bash vendors but his one really has it coming!
I have had my share of issues with parts suppliers before but he was the worst.

I should have known, since he was pompus right from the beginning.

My corbin seat was not what I expected, and wanted it modified.
He told me to sell it and buy another but have 2nd one custom made.
Had no interest in helping me. BUT offered to TAKE MY MONEY TWICE!
DOOD NEEDS A CLUE!

Ok I fork out $850 for seat and gunfighter backrest, then am supposeed to sell it for 1/2 the retail as a used product... we all know how that works, then pay full retail and have another custom made ...

I sold it alright and wil NEVER buy another. The US factory outlet/ main outlet would not even listen to my situation ONCE they heard Canada.

Alot of people have had issue with the pegs.
Not sure about the bags.

Good luck and welcome to zx14.com!

that whole corbin thing on the ZX14, bags seats etc just doesn't look too attractive. The C14 is awesome though.

I agree the C14 is a hot looking bike for its purpose. The ergo's just dont fit me as well. I have looked at all the competitions similar models and I still cant find any thing better for my needs. I have paid for my ZX-14 and if all goes well, I am to pick it up Tomorow. I understand Corbin Blows when it comes to service, but I can find no other hard, lockable bag that looks as good on the ZX-14. Hopefully I will be one of the happy customers......there must be some..right?

Have you considered dealing with Corbin USA? I talked to the reps at their Daytona store and they seemed pretty reasonable. I bought a gunfighter and backrest for my ZX11 and it was perfect.

I spoke to Corbin USA, they wont mail to Canada. I am sure there is a backdoor but not sure how todo it. Customs could also be an issue. I would imagine because the guy in Canada has the rights to the Canadian sales they wont make it easy.
The dealer I bought from can get the product though Corbin Canada. I will prob. go through them. The price is the same and if I have problems I can put the concerns back on them.

Hey MakennaEllen, thanks for the thread (a posts up) but I need hardshell lockable, I really hate when Sh.t goes missing, if it isn't bolted down I might as well gift wrap it.
