Can't decide
2008 Busa $12000 and ugly butt and exhaust is freaking HUGE!
2007 red zx14 $9500 ugly face. Muzzy exhaust sounds sweet. Is growing on me.
Not sure which I want. I had an 05 Busa and am thinking of switching camps. The 08 has a lot to offer but is it worth the extra $$.
What is it about the 14 that you all like. I know a lot of you had Busa's before so convince me that the 14 is the right choice, cause I am moments away from going down to the shop and getting it.

I had two Busas before the zx14 and loved both of them . The zx14 is one fine ride and has worked well for me...The 08 Busa is one hell of a ride but i can't stand the ugly VW ass end ....But you will never see that butt while riding it ... Either bike will make a good bike for you, just pick the one you like and injoy ....Smokin...
OH P/S the 08 busa muffles will be the first thing you change anyway , so don't sweat the big cans ...

Let me extol the virtues of the ZX-14:
1. It's not a Suzuki product
2. It doesn't bear the stigma of being the ethincaly confused white boy's "ride"
3. No gimmicky shit, everything on the bike is functional.
Obviously if you are a Suzuki fan, the aforementioned will either piss you off, but in any event Kawasaki is clearly the choice for non-homosexual men.

i had 3 busa in past, it is a great bike .
this is my second zx14 that i own. to be honest i like both of them, one more than other one for certain things.
would i buy another busa? maybe.. i have to look at it in person and see the back of it myself and decide and see how much laugh i get from people looking at the tail when i am riding . . do what pleases you, they both great bikes, you are the one have to be happy.

Is the red bike an 06 or did they have that color in 07. Will make a difference in the price I am willing to pay. The one thing that seemed to be calling me was the muzzy exhaust. It was the best sounding bike I had heard and better sounding than any of my previous bikes. Am going in on Wednesday to do the numbers. Wife said if I could get it down to a certain price I can ride it home.
So, if that happens I'm going to go for it. It is just growing on me everytime I look at it.
I sat on it and it felt pretty good. Will post a pic if I get it.

red only came on 06. they still have new 06 left? or is it a used one?
you will be very happy with performance of the zx14. it is hell of bike.
good luck with your choice.
just pull the flies out when you get it and please don't ask what is that and why and how?
plenty of info here for you to do it.

It is a used 06. Went back and checked the online ad and was mistaken. I have heard all about the flys and will check that out. I guess asking that question here is like asking what a tre is on a busa site.

Bruiser, Call the dealership in Charlotte, N.C. As of last month they still had a brand new red 06 with 0 miles for $9,800. Price may be less if they still have it with the 08's coming out.

Thats a little far as getting it here would cost a bit or put a few miles on it as well. Plus the one I am looking at is broken in and has a nice muzzy exhaust already on it. Will keep that in mind in case this one gets sold though.
Thanks

If you can afford the 2008 $12,000.00 Busa .. what in the world is stopping you from considering the 2008 ZX-14? ?? not logical friend...
ZX-14 for 2008 is the new and improved version...both bike's you have considered will make you happy.. but the new ZX-14 will make you and anyone who knows you have it thrilled...at least for a year or two...

Stock 14 goes 15 mph faster than the Busa at Bonneville. Speeds are officially verified.

flyboy, 15mph faster than an '07 busa? Any chance the new busas have been to bonneville? Not being smart, just curious.
I'd buy the used red '06 as long as it is mint and a good price. The colors for '08(((regardless of power))) blow. I'm not a fan of the muzzy exhaust though--regardless of what it sounds like.
I'd also consider a used pre-'08 busa. There should be plenty nicely modified(and low mileage) ones around for a good price.

14 is a much better ride and is more comfortable than the Busa, PERIOD! If that means anything to you. As far as power, the 14 will pull away from any Busa prior to the 08 Busa. Side by side performance of the 14 against the 08 Busa remains to be sceen. You have to go with your personal preferance here. I personally like the 14 better for many reasons plus everybody and their grandaddy has a Busa.

08 Busa or 08 (silver)14. Personally I would go with the 08 blk/orange busa I like it after seeing it in this past weekend and thats coming from a guy whos owned 2 ZX-14. The tail dosen't look as bad in person.

Mottorrad magazine has already stated the 08 Busa brakes and handling are uninspiring in comparison to the zx14!
So if your after more than just motor, sounds like the zx14 is the better bike!
You could do alot of motor work for the $3500 difference and have it all!

I can afford it but don't really want to drop that much change on a bike right now. I actually like the redblack 08 14 and was calling around for information but it's just too much $$ right now. I bought my first Busa new and put 15k on it pretty quick and sold it. So, I am probably going to get the used 14 and save some $$ and hopefully have about the same performance. Will remove the flies and get a PC and thats about it. Might lower it so I can flat foot too, but not slam it. I think the 14 looks sweet lowered anyway.
If the 14 handles better than my 05 Busa then I will love it. I used to ride with the liters and 600's and keep up pretty well. Maybe now I'll lead the pack. lol.
