please help with weird noise
can someone maybe tell me if they have ever had or heard of this problem. I went to the track made 4 passes and at the end of the last three i was feeling something funny in my pegs as i shifted back down into first gear in the return lane. I didnt hear anything at that time because i had all my gear on. (only felt it in my feet)i just got home and took this thing for a test ride and the noise is inside the transmision it sounds like my kickstand is dragging the ground but it is internal and mainly seems like it only happens after i shift from second to first i pulled the sprocket cover and every thing is good also pulled the clutch and everything also looks good pulled oil pan and it has no shavings of no kind and looked up at the trans and nothing abnormal poped out the me. It does not do this all the time and also i have no problems shifting and it dosent pop out of gear I can just tell that something isnt right and it didnt do this until i ran the piss out of it down the track
thanks in advance for your help DENNIS

replaced all parts that could be taken out with motor still in bike test rode still has fucking noise so i got pissed. a buddy and I pulled the motor split the case and everything still looked good. at this point Im not just pissed im boiling!!!! so then im fed up sitting there getting ready to go in and looking over everything and decide to go ahead and pull the input shaft bearing out of the lower case (tranny already being removed) and get ready to pull the unusually tight (or so i thought) phillips screws that hold the bearing retainer to the case and they were loose (THANKS KAW)so i looked further and found the whole input shaft on the tranny was pushing out every time i was pulling the clutch . and that was the reason why it only did it when the wheel was turning or not moveing in neutral (oil viscosity spinning inner basket) so now i found my noise the only thing that pisses me off is kawasaki should have tightened them bolts tighter and my riding season is over for my 14
the good thing out of this whole deal is the damn thing was comming apart in a couple of months anyway since i ordered pistons and some other stuff last week
but if anyone ever has this problem pull your clutch baskett and check the two phillips bolts directly behind the oil pump drive gear (when you get in there youll see what i mean)if there loose tap your bearing back into the case put loktite on the screws and tighten them down
thanks anyway even though no one tried to help

never saw this thread until now. Maybe next time you need an assist you can bump it so it doesn't wind up on page 3 ten days later.
I'm having the same sound that you describe. I wont be able to check it until next year though---bike is headed for storage.
This will be the first thing I check when I get back....and add some goodies. Thanks for the follow up.
