smokey....now ditch the shinko and run a pilot power, then toss the back rotor that will give you 7 pounds of rotating mass and 2 pounds dead weight off the bike. The pilot is 4 pounds lighter than the shinko...rotor is 3 with bolts....caliper is 2.

Regarding weight comments - I was wondering if drag racers would find a benefit to the Pilot Power on the strips.

The Alien Head is different. Don't know if I like it as well as the Smeg. Couple of months ago the Smeg was the greatest thing to happen for the 14 in many people's opinion. Now here is the Alien Head. What's next? I think I'll hold onto my Smeg. It's small enough. To get any smaller is approaching the sidewinder profile too much but the more I look at the Alien Head more I like it.

Is there a conversion kit for the SMEG to the Alien head?

Brock pulled the Alien Head conversion kit as there are a few fitment kinks he wants to work out. He's a perfectionist and stands behind his products.

The pilot power race are the new drag tire to try. I have one on the 14 and love it. I can run about 5-10 more psi than i could the shinko...and i run at a shitty track. It's 4 pounds lighter than the shiko but cost about twice as much. This is also the tire most of the ssbikes are running now...i was told they run about 50-52 psi in them...the mph on those ss bikes are crazy.

So if I understand it right, there is not a conversion for the SMEG. You must buy the entire system.

Will a backfire pop light the passenger on fire or is it pointed out sufficiently? My current smeg is a flame thrower but the flame starts further back, not a problem.

Sorry to go so far back in the post but I haven't been around for a while. I saw the pictures that Hawkman put up, and I do ride a lot of chicks on the back of my 12R. Once I get my 14 I doubt the ride requests are going to slow, so does anyone know of possible passenger ignition probabilities with the AH? I do not think 3rd degree burns are a plus for a nice outing.

I think it'll be ok, but if you're going for a nice outing with the chicks on the back, I wouldn't get the Alien Head. It's frikkin' loud!

There is a conversion kit - I installed it this weekend - very simple, one bolt and three springs - and it ships with a tool for the spring. No direction were included - install was obvious. Pipe seems to work great - I will have an idea on performance next week assuming weather holds. Less backfire than the SMEG on decel - significantly less. Sounds pretty good - but not all that much differant than SMEG. No louder to my ear. Ran crisp and clean.... I am pleased.

The louder the better! Let the cages hear me coming from a mile away! And if I want to do my long distance travels then there is always the silencers Brock sells, right? But I am glad I won't be setting anyone aflame. That would be the only reason I wouldn't buy the head.
