08 busa tail we better get used to it
IM AFRAID THERE IS NOT GOING TO BE ENOUGH UMPH TO KEEP UP WITH THAT DAMN NEW BUSA!!! IT WAS SO NICE TO HAVE THE FASTEST STOCK BIKE FOR AT LEAST A LITTLE WHILE.........THOSE DAMN BUSA OWNERS ARE SO COCKY AS IT IS.....I LOVED SMOKIN THEM. BOYS, WE MAY LOSE OUR STATUS FOR A WHILE.

I think you may be wrong. The 14 is updated again as well.
That new Busa stock won't beat a 14 with decent bolt-ons and flies pulled anyway.

Why the drama then? Go ahead and purchase the new busa....But if you seriously think 90% of those fellas that ride busas actually know what to do with them, then you should join that 90%. There is a helluva lot more to being the fastest than horse power....Balls being the one that comes to mind. ---racing ain't got shit to do with pointing the bike with the most HP in a safe direction and pulling the trigger. Even before the 14, I had a hard time finding local busas to race my 12---even with my fat ass on it. So, go ahead and buy the busa for its extra couple hps....it should make you a great trophy.

If Busa's make good trophys I will take mine in orange and black. And if you were at a race I was at 2 weekends ago there is just as many people that can't ride 14's. If I would'nt have ran as fast as I did on mine and saw the times these 14's were running I would have never bought one because I would have thought they were slow as hell. 6 14's at the track and the fastest on was 9.86 stretched and lowerd, with pipes. I had to slow mine down just to run the 9.50 class at Byron. you guys crack me up. the Busa and 14 will be so close I bet if someone like smoking or myself would run an 08 Busa and an 08 14 set up the same back to back it will be about the same time on either bike. the 14 and Busa owners should just face the facts and realize they are both bad ass machines. and if you could not find a Busa riderto race your 12 you hanging around some pretty sorry riders. and yes I;ve owned a 12 and yes it was fast.

There is no doubt the bikes are wicked fast and close to even....which makes the title of dumbman's post "get used to looking at the busa tail" such a dumb statement. I wont be looking at the rear of anything that refuses to line up and race. I bought this thing, so I could learn how to race.
truth be told, there aren't a lot of people that want to race at my local(and Only) ghetto track period. I guess some folks are more worried about getting beat that getting better.
I'll take my trophy in orange/black too.

And on top of that you come in here with this bogus, "see the tail light of a busa" BS when damn near every indication of the 08 busa is that the 06/07 14 is probably faster or at least easier to go faster on. And you can tell that by the press intro. At the busa's inro the fastest time was only a 9.95 when at the 14's intro the fastest time was 9.7 something. So even though the busa might have a few more HP or whatever the 14 makes it easier to put that power to the ground by the average joe. And on top of that the 08 14 is even faster than the 06/07.

While many here would love to see the 14 sell as well as the busa, it's kind of appealing in a way it doesn't. I mean you run into some hotshots on busa's or 1k's who, thanks to mags or internet boards, think they got the almighty of streetbikes and your 14 is slow because of whatever they heard. Then you give them the shock of their life since they don't know how to ride what they have let along got their bike set up proper and the excuses, looks on the thier faces is always priceless.

Its been on a dyno already genius. The numbers are 177hp and 105lb/ft. A big 2hp advantage over the highest 14 number I've seen and actually 2lb/ft less than the best 14 number I've seen.

I can't wait to see the mainstream magazines (like Cycle World, Motorcyclist, Sport Rider) head to head comparison. I waited for months after the 06 zx14 came out and the best I got was a comparison of the zx14 to a FZ1000 for comfortable tourers. I think we will see a head to head against an 07 zx14 since the Hayabusa is now cranking more hp. Once the 08 zx14 comes out and pushes more power, I bet you won't see much except if the Hayabusa mods better then you will see a modded comparison.

I think its funny how the numbers guys would let a couple horse power dictate which bike they buy. I buy what i like, not what has 2 or 5 or 10 hp more than this bike or this bike. The 14 came out and threw another 15-20 horse into the mix and everybody was happy. If i wanted a busa i would buy it simple because i wanted something else to ride. It's a toss up on which bike to race but since i have everything done to my 14 it might as well just be my track bike. I'll take a busa for a cruiser anyday.
