Ideal warm up temp?

When it was warm I would let the bike get to the halfway on the temp bar before I drove off. It got cold now and the first time I let it warm up (idling) it took FOREVER to get to halfway. Now just go after it gets 1 bar above cold. I take it easy til it gets halfway, but now it's so cold in the monring it stays 1 bar above cold while riding.

My CBR has a digital guage and I normally wait til it hits 100 degrees (when the temp registers on the display). So what temp is safe to start riding?

when the idle drops to 1000 its ready to ride, on my lcd the throttle% drops from 2% to 0% at this point. then i ride it east for a couple blocks at least, then hamer time.

Theres a reason it runs at high idle on start up. When the revs drop to normal idle ride it just keep it under 6 grand for a mile or so. Takes about a minute... Then have fun. You will never get it evenly warm just idleing you have to have a load.

The 14 is ready to ride after it comes down off of the high idle but at that point it's still not fully warmed up yet. I would ride it maybe a mile or so to make sure all of the fluids have made it up into the upper end of the engine and then only at that point the engine should be thoroughly warmed up and is ready to be laid into.

butter, I start the engine, and let it idle for twenty seconds. then drive away, its not good for the engine to warm it up stationary. i always keep my refs under the 5000rpm for ten miles, en after that its full pull....

It's not like I let it idle for forever...I normally start it, get geared up and go....it used to be halfway by then, but not when it's so cold out now.....

So by the time I get geared up it's says 1 bar about C now....that's shortly after the idle drops...thanks all.
