From WD-40's web site:
http://www.wd40.com/Brands/wd40_faqs.html
What does WD-40 contain?
While the ingredients in WD-40 are secret, we can tell you what WD-40 does NOT contain. WD-40 does not contain silicone, kerosene, water, wax, graphite, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), or any known cancer-causing agents.
Use WD-40 on your bike to clean, degrease and lubricate your chain, derailleur, gears, cogs, and moving parts

I'm not playing and most that say they use it aren't either. It's a bikers secret. I do use it and know so many others that do too. Use whatever you want though and I'll use whatever I want. The arguement has been around by non-users of WD on chains for years. They knock stuff they've never tried using because of what they believe in. It's all retarded. Just use whatever you want.

I like to clean my chain with WD-40 and sometimes kerosene but I would never use WD-40 to lube the chain. I recommend Chain Wax for that. Love that stuff.

You would never use WD-40; I would never use chain wax. Only wax I'd use is for my plastics.

when i rode motorcross i would hose the entire bike minus seat with wd-40 before riding, then on the way home we'd roll thru a car wash and spray the bikes. all that caked on red clay would fall off like magic leaving the plastics looking freshly waxed and everything else spic-n-span. five minutes for what normally would have taken an hour with a pressure sprayer. still used gear oil on the chain though, don't know why anybody would waste money on anything else

Slip the glow in the darks on your buddies exhaust once in a while at bike night without them knowing.... good for a laugh

I hear ya NinjaNick. WD is great stuff but not for lubing motorcycle chains. WD serves many purposes, sort of like the old saying, "Jack of all trades but the master of non". That's what WD-40 is. Great for many uses but if you are serious about keeping your chain lubed properly, I would get something that was intended just for that purpose only, such as Chain Wax, motul street lube, etc. which are all great lite weight lube, which won't fling off all over the rim. I love WD-40 but only as a cleaner prior to applying Chain Wax onto a warm chain. If WD-40 is your thang, by all means continue using it.

WD-40
I'll change the drivetrain every 20,000 anyway.... so I don't give a fuck if it lasts to 40,000!
I was fed up of cleaning the crap off my bike!
Wax holds dirt from my experience...
A good chain will only require adjustment 1-2 times, and good after that...
Stocker took 4 adjustments to settle in, new 530drzzz has had up to 250hp with the dope and airshifting to boot.
4000 km now, and it took 1 adjustment at 100km, been good since!

Thanks for backing me up a bit dubious. There are TONS of guys that use the WD on their chains. Yup...brand new chain 1-2 adjustments and it's pretty solid after that and that's all been with WD-40. You nailed it man.
