(FYI: we have sold many thousands of Busa ultra-clutch mods for a reason...)
I never ran a 10 ANYTHING with my ZX-14 completely stock.... but my best pass properly set-up with a bolt-ons is 9.20@154+MPH , stock wheelbase, foot shifting. It just made 195 HP a year later set up like Chip Ellis rode it at Gainesville 2006. It's a good bike and I like it very much.
The stock Busa horsepower IS an indication of things to come and don't be surprised if everything we know about how fast a bolt-on bike will go is SHATTERED very soon. My guess is 205 RWHP (+?!) HP and eight seconds set up like above at Gainesville 2007 with a serious jockey.
**BUT** as much as guys want to compare the 14 with the new Busa...it might not be very fair at this point since the current ZX-14 is TWO YEARS OLD and we still haven't seen what Kawasaki has in store for 2008. They are not dummies and I'm sure they don't plan on leaving well enough alone in the face of this new threat from their ONLY other competitor in the stupid-fast bike market.
The bottom line is this; we are living the 'good ol days' of muscle cars, kz900's and GS1150's... MODERN DAY....RIGHT NOW!

Ps. I will be adding to our 2008 Busa dragbike.com tests from now until after AMA/Prostar Gainesville 2007. I hope to get my hands on a 2008 ZX-14 at some point very soon. I would LOVE to set them both up identical and have at it!

Summary of test session: Glutton for punishment. Try as ridden in Vegas, but TOO DAMN DIFFICULT TO RIDE. I don't have the patience! Three 10.30 something's, and I want a strap.

Guys make no mistake about it, the BUSA is always a threat (if you sleep on one). I KILLED a many 99-06 BUSA'S w/ my 2000 ZX12R and (lol) my ancient history ZX11 w/ head work, Muzzy pipe, geared, and yes jetting(lol) stomped its fair share and lost to few. Numbers don't mean squat if yo AZZ can't RIDE period. The Busa just has a helluva following unlike the Kawi's (so far). But Kawasaki finally woke up and said no more! The ZX11 held the King of Speed crown for years, the ZX12R was inches from it, and Kawasaki delivered a Mike Tyson upper cut w/ the ZX14 ...........Sorry for the SERMON but it is Sunday!! There's something to be said when you're getting gas and a guy goes, "is that the 14, how fast you been"? Brock was right when he said, "these are the hp days we're living in" and I am enjoing it.

I did run a 10.02 in at the ZX-14 intro. in Vegas.

I'd Love to see Brock run the modded 14 and modded busa same day, same track.
And when Brock finally gets the new0814....modded of course.
