porting out exhaust openings

This just popped in my head. I remember when I installed my smeg system, that the exhaust ports coming out of the head was pretty small, considering the size of the brocks header tubes. I was wondering if opening up these ports a little would help any? You wouldn't have to remove the head or anything, just open them up a little with the header removed. It's just an idea, so please don't rag me too bad if it's a stupid question

If you do any exhaust port work, avoid taking material off the floor.
It kills flow.

Yeah, I know that gasket matching on the exhaust is a no-no. It needs a lip to help keep the gases from trying to go back into the port. But on a car you can raise the roof of the port all the way up to the where the header tube mates up and it helps flow. Just wondering if it would help on a bike.
