I just got slip ons and nitrous so far. I was waiting to see what Kawi does with the 08 first but if it's not seriously different then Turbo time! I had a system that got from Mr Turbo on a zx11 I had a while back.

I tried once but ran out of room north of Denver...I hit close to 180mph. On that same stretch of hwy on my 00 12r w/ nitrous, pc, and full exhaust I was past 200mph but the 14 was pulling way harder it seemed.

Not sure about turbo boost or any big engine mods or sprayed 14's, but theres brocks bolt on 14 which did 201 at maxton. Another member here from the uk has had his Tiforce piped 14 at 205mph i believe.

I hear ya. Turbo is a very good thing if done right. My Turbo ZX11 was crazy nice but the technology of the bike was dated when I got the 12r and same goes for it compared to my 14 now.

Correct, I ran 205.4mph in September 06 and have broken 200 seven times now but another 14 at the same meeting ran 207mph, so I'm not the daddy. I haven't heard of a normally aspirated bike faster than 207 yet.
Bikes using Nitrous Oxide or a Turbo should beat that easily if they are geared for top speed. We will need to put them in classes for comparison.

I have an ATP stage?? turbo kit on my ZX14. Its making a little over 400hp and 200ft/lbs of torque. Going to the track for the first time on Friday, so we'll see. I don't think I'll be able to run really low numbers because the track has traction problems, and the shut down is very short.
Previously I ran a best of 8.80 at 168mph spinning the tire off the line. That was at about 285hp, so time will tell.
There has not been anybody into the 7's on a 14 yet, but Orient, myself, and another guy all have 14's with 400hp so its just a matter of time.
As far as top speed runs go, none of us have any interest in doing it. Don't really care about top speed, would rather run a 7. Stay tuned........

R&D tuning, miled head and flowed, akrapovic muflers, bigger header, adjusted headkasket , pc3, low flow filter speedohealer, 40 tooth sprocket, and a lot of dynoruns...... (and allready one blownen headgasket..)

MR turbo. did the run on a highway here on a sunday morning at seven aƧlock in the morning.... my front sprocket was 17, standard.. You wrote about about the zx11 mr turbo, I did read that ten years ago, and you are right about those numbers, I think it was in performance bikes. it was a blue white zx11... it was water injected cooled, and they blew the engine in those testruns.

I think they might be a little too soft for top speed and i dont remember them having a "Z" rating but that is my choice of tire at the strip a good ol shinko u-soft. the new power we have should be a good test for the shinkos. but for top speed we might have to look into a Pirelli Tire or a Michelin pilot, not sure yet . . . .need to do a little more homework or get some input from someone who has been there.

I'm using the standard fitment BT014 at normal pressure for top speed runs. They seem perfectly fine, my first one lasted 2000 miles including about 25 top speed runs and seven at over 200mph. Obviously I don't burn-out for straightlining.

Bob,
Thanks for you reply, and congrats on busting the 200mph level so many times. Are you using a speedohealer to overcome the top speed limiter? any insite for a newbe to the top speed stuff?

Yes, a speedohealer set to covert kph to mph so the inner 300kph scale becomes mph. The most important things for straightlining, apart from engine power, are to gear the bike correctly, so that the target speed coincides with peak power, and the aerodynamics. I have proved that lowering the bike for lower drag and a harder launch is worth a good 10mph if everything else is optimised. An identical bike, same TiForce pipe etc, with an experienced rider but running at standard ride height was 11 mph slower than mine at a meeting earlier this year. He ran 192mph to my 203mph. I put it down to aero's.
