Just got a ZX14!
Well this is my first post here, just wanted to say hello. I got a 2007 blue ZX14 this is the first bike that I have owned. I've been riding for a while and for the past year I've been riding my brother's 2004 hayabusa. Gonna go pick it up tomorrow so more posts to follow.

Sweet man, I kinda wish I woulda got the blue instead of the black. But color doesn't make it faster, unless it's red like Smokin's bike

Welcome and Black is the fastest less wind resistance cause of the heat hot air is less dense so it is easier to travel through and we all know black retains the most heat so there it is scientifically prooven black is fastest LOL

06 CTB is the absolute fastest, next best is the 07 washed out blue, second best is not a bad thing....TB

Dont be fooled by the colors, black is fastest esp at night...congrats on a fine machine!

Went out and put about 85 miles on it last night and all I can say is very nice, I'm glad I bought it. Its so hot in the pheonix area I wait till the evening or the night to take it out when its a lot cooler. First thing I noticed was the temperature gauge kept running a little high. Is it normal for it to run high and has anyone had any major damage as a result of the high temp?

Nope ... don't worry as you get some more miles on it the temps come down ..Big difference in heat from 0 to 1000 miles ...

you are breaking it in, it will run cooler and smoother after the first oil change at 600

Welcome to the forum, you will really enjoy once you have run it in.They do get a bit hot but my black one hasn't suffered any problems due to the heat, though I am looking at fitting an extra fan, I note the Concours has two fans. They do run cooler after run in.

Just remember black blends well, the red ones always get nabbed by the policeman

I gotta say red is definitely fastest. After 11,000 miles I haven't had 1 person pull out in front of me, so while all you guys are slamming on brakes I'm still haulin' ass. Gratz on the new bike man.
