gas tank hissing sounds...?
Whats up guys, Is anyone else have this problem? My gas tank is hissing constantly, I have to open it and close it alot through out the day when Im riding.. I dont think the breather hose on the back of the tank is pinched... I just dont remeber it doing this that much when I first got the bike.... I never fill it to much either....

they all do it....mine has since day one. It's worse when im low on gas or the bike sits in the sun.

It's completely normal. There is a tiny valve operated by a solenoid to vent the tank pressure. It will even do this hours after you park the bike is some instances. No need to open the gas cap. Just let it do it's thing.

Mines made the sound when it was newer. I have the 06 model. Either it stopped making that sound or I just got use to hearing the sound.

I'm glad someone mentioned it!!! I took it to the dealer where I bought it and the idiots couldn't give me an explanation why it was hissing-lmao. Thank god for our brilliant brother-en on this forum.
You guys have more insight than all them knuckleheads--lolol.

My Arai helmet makes a hissing sound when the bike is pinned and exceeds around ____ miles per hour across the Howard Franklin Bridge. Does that count? :P
