What voids the warranty...
I bought the extended 4 year warranty and I want to do a couple things to my 14...
I want to remove the butterflies
I want to put an exaust on
I want to put a PC on
I heard that removing the flies will void the warranty, but I have not confirmed it. Different dealers say different things, so I don't know who to believe.
Any ideas?

I imagine that pulling the flies would void the warranty. I have heard putting a PCIII on does it to.
I dont think Slip-Ons void it though.
But really, all that can be reversed in a very little amount of time if it is really needed.

If you have a non-engine problem I wouldnt think you would even need to put the flys back in, I mean, its hard enough just to get to them, and the dealers not gonna look for no reason.

Why not call KHI and find out facts? Or ask your dealer. And around here they seem to love the warranty jobs :P

In Corpus Christi TX the Kawi dealer wont work on your bike unless you bought it form him, not even if you want to PAy for service. Had to do my 600 mi service myself, which wasnt a big deal for me, but what an ass. Funny thing, long story short, we bought three new bikes in three months and he could have sold them all to us, but no, they had to be flamin assholes!

according to a post i saw from brock, there is a law against voiding the warranty for installing aftermarket unless they can prove it caused the issue

Thats bullshit man,. I would be calling Kawasaki about that one! All Kawasaki dealers are supposed to cover any Kawasaki models under warranty. Which means if you bought it in California and moved to Texas and you had a problem any Kawi dealer should fix it.

That's what I was thinking....aside from removing the flies, what could the exhaust REALLY do to hurt an engine? It just routes exhaust gases away from the engine...LOL.

waranty here is great....!A friend of my has a zx12r which was damaged in an acident. he bought that bike from a shop who deals in damaged bikes. the engine had a major problem, one of the plastic caps that holds the back plate of the air filter in place came loose. and that hard ball of plastic came between the exaust valve.. that hit the piston, .....
and on en on ... he had still two days waranty on his bike, and brought it to a kawasaki dealer, and they repared the the motor for just 100 dollar. two new valves, one piston, and all the work. they clamed everything at kawi europe, no problem..... that is what i say waranty.

Mine told me that they have NO incentive to not do the work ..
Auto dealers are given a bonus for warrenty-less claim days .. well you know what I mean. .
My Dealer told me straight out .. he has no reason to screw me ... gets paid regardless.. .but Kawasaki has the final say on if they pay for stuff. .
so far .. ding on my rear rim .. not covered .. pics sent to KHI and no go ..
Clutch was buggin me .. in the dealer 2 times .. not fixed .. but serviced to the hilt.. new gasket and oil twice .. labour and all the smiles at no charge ..
it really depends .. but I think Kawi is final on somethings .. and they know what they can/can't get away with on just their say-so..
any dealer getting pissy .. well F-em .. they're goofs .. don't even buy your coffe from them ..
