Corbin Seat Question

I'm looking at picking up a new Corbin seat. For those of you that already have one, what seating surface and/or side panels did you use? Traditional leather? Carbon fiber look leather, etc. Trying to decide what looks good and what looks cheesey. Also, anyone out there have the seat pocket made thicker? Corbin says they can go up to 2.5 extra inches high before it starts to look odd. I'm a little skeptical on that part. Any advice? I'm 6'4" and the extra leg room would be great as long as it doesn't make the seat look funny.

the carbon look on the sides is nice.
Since it is leather with nylon or other synthetics impregnated to give that finnish would suck in the seating area... swass....

Hope you live near the factory, cause the Canadian rep would do nothing for me when I was not satisfied, told me to take it to local upholstry shop, or sell it and order another...
... Ph...

Cost too much to ship back and forth for altering....
How would you know what you want altered from their standard, if ya never sat on one for the application before..
Not my idea of custom, nor customer service.
For $600, it had better be right.

I sold the Corbin alright, NOT buying another.

looking at Tobin... really nice seats, smaller guy who will build what you request.

6'4" 350 and i have the standard black leather Corbin.

I love it.

Also, if you are able to make it to a factory, you can buy it right from them and have it essentially molded exactly right to your butt. I have heard nothing but great things going this route.

i also have the corbin seat with everything standard. It is much, much better than the factory seat for long rides, however it is not nearly as cushy as the corbin i had on my 85 ninja. If having the "seat pocket" made thicker means more padding, i would have them add at least 1 extra inch. I did not know that was an option when i got mine.

Same as any other covering, and they have a host of coverings to choose from. That is (believe it or not) black snakeskin w/ carbon fiber side panels.

"Not a good fit for those under 6' tall"

I noticed that it moved the seating position back probably 2.5 -3 inches, but the seat itself was very comfortable. I picked up some Heli bar risers. They didn't look like much, but, they did make a real difference. I just took mine on a trip and I easily got another 50-75 miles before discomfort set in. I don't ride LD often so that's a pretty significant increase for me.
