Can't pass/beat a zx 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My buddy zx 12 is suppose to be stock, but running top speed it's like he's on 14 and I'm on 12.He blew his motor last year before winter.I'm thinking he had work done like a cam, piston kit, & crank work. He knew before his motor blew I was getting a 07 zx 14.So what do you guys think & what could he possibly had done to bike.He won't tell.He likes being the underdog.

I guess I top out at 185mph. He was still pulling away from me,I just could not pull him in. I can say this we left both busas way behind us. But that bike and half gap I could'nt close & at 185 the gap got a little bigger.

To fix the topend restriction, you'll need a Speedo Healer. At least I don't know of another way, save taller gearing, which probably isn't a good plan for a street bike. Anybody else?

Oh, check out Brock's ZX-14 Diaries, all of 'em, but mostly the Maxton one, on BrockRacing.com or Dragbike.com. Good luck...lots of good advice here...you'll get that pesky 12!

How much hp does a1270 kit suppose to put out? And what about other kits that suppose to make 12's better than a stock 14? I think Muzzy & ape has them.At 1394cc the APE kit makes your ZX12 nearly 50 cc larger than the a new factory ZX14. This kit consist of 86mm forged pistons with a cylinder block bored and re plated to fit, a 60 mm fully nitrided and race-balanced stroker crankshaft, and Carrillo rods.

What's the big issue?

A tuned piped 12 can take out a tuned and piped 14 on any given day depending on rider etc.

In the UK, the class 2 (no engine mods just pipe, pc3r etc) record is held by a 12 at 210mph followed by a few other 12s, 14s and Busas.

At the very top end, their is little between them. Drag racing is where the 14 rules.

A1270 12R over here is by far the fastest built bike in the country running at 216mph.

They are very fast. I would think it would be blatantly obvious if it was a 1270 as it would piss all over a standard 14 by a country mile.

Someone is lying fearsome. You need more than 200 hp to get to that speed. Sorry but I don't believe bolt on mods can do that much difference on a 12. Those guys aren't honest about their mods.

The bike has 184rwhp. I know this as it was dynoed just before mine at a dyno day last year.

Bob C on his 14 did 205 the same day, as did another 12R. There was a strong tailwind so the speed will seem high. The same rider on the same bike did 203 last time out without much of a tailwind, as did Bob C funnily enough.

Top end, there is very little in it.
