Lowered + fat ass = not good

Well i was suppose to hit up 341 (North AR) one today, but was sidelined before even really getting started. Just FYI, i have a zx14 that is lowered and stretched, and in general i have to be pretty careful about 'bumps' and what not. But to me it really isnt a big deal. Well pulling out of the gas station early this morning, i bottomed on what should have been 'not so big a deal' bump. I got on the gas a bit, and the rear tire spun pretty easily. I look back and see my oil trail.

I have knocked the oil-plug out before, and it didnt really do any damage to the pan, well this time it is a little different.

Well it sucked, but i atleast got a good updated photo of my bike.

And i will be tearing it apart starting tomorrow, and will take it to a welder to have some overall work done to it. Shouldnt be to big of a deal, and only a couple (max a few) days down time.

Mr Turbo has made a low profile oil pan and should solve that problem. It may not be on his website yet but you can call to find out.
www.mrturbo.com It is a real quality piece.

How much is that going for, b/c i really think my local welder can correct this problem pretty easily, especially with what i have in mind.

ripped mine out loading on the trailer.

Partner ripped his out coming out of a wheelie at the drags.

Both bikes are lowered and mine streched.

Bottom line, if you're lowered, you need to have the 'protective lip' on the oil pan ground off and have the drainplug relocated. I moved mine(as did my partner) to the outter kickstand-side. No problems now. Grand total for the welding was $60.

Well the lip isnt what broke mine, that broke a long time ago. ANd yeah, i dont see this as being to costly, but we will see.

do yourself another favor and get a radiator guard if you haven't done so already. many members here including myself have "holed" the rad. from road debris. bad way to end a ride not to mention costly

Bracket i made myself, and works perfectly. They are still rough, but once they are done i will post a little write up on it.

I got the Race Railz through Sunrise Honda (local dealer) and they got them from Lockhart. I think i paid $130 or something after tax.

And yes that is a Corbin seat, and i think is one of the best things i have done to the bike.

I have seen the race rails on the R1 and they look real nice. Heavy though, and appear more for a stunter application.

For the ZX10 fender check out dubious http://www.bikeland.org/board/viewthread.php?FID=27&TID=33592

This it will be ready in two weeks is sounding like the movie money pit..... ALthough we all need to thank you for gining up the ride while they use it for prototype.. I am lucky though - as mine is still there.

c'mon on a 14 you have to break it to leak oil, all you have to do is ride a harley and you got a nice puddle

Yo BlackMagic14:

When they have them ready let us know.

I'd like one since I bottomed after cresting a small hill and knocked the protective edge of the oil pan.
