good 60ft but bad e.t...

i have a 64" zx14, flies removed, brocks smeg, brocks map, lowered, strapped, stock filter, 16 front 45 rear, and airshifter... i cut a 1.48 60ft but didnt run but a 6.19 1/8 and a 9.64 1/4... i was stucked in and 100% throttle out of the gate... whats the prob?? do i have too much gear in back? should i go down to like a 42 or 43???? i figured with that 60ft, i should have went a 9.20 or 9teen at least.. im running 89 octane and a usoft with about 15 psi

Weight can be a huge issue.

I am thinking it may be b/c of the generic map. It may not cure everything, but with a good tune and changing of the gears you might be on the right track.

from what I recall, That is not too much gear if you use the speedo healer. couple guys here running 8.9x with similar gearing, 10" over arms and NO dope!

Hell it could be the air. Were not going to see really impressive #'s until the fall when we see 60 and below weather....at least where i live. Where are you shifting at?....Hell i'm lucky to run 12 psi in my tire even with a straight link. I was seeing 1.42-1.43 60's last year and running 9.20's. This year i havent seen anything better than a 1.48 but i'm running 9.30's in the heat. My bike averages 147-148 normally with 16/44 gearing. One pass i seen almost 154mph just by paying more attention to my shift points.

Well you are a little off ...On motor NO spray 8.77 using a 16/41 gear and i weigh in at 150 .... On spray 8.56 and that was a 30 shot .... I did try 16 /42 gears and on the motor and all i did was wheely so i went back to 16/41 .. I sold the 42 tooth rear sprocket to Burnout and it helped with his 60 foot times and ET ...I think he weighs a tad over 200 pounds ...Smokin...

Was the track NHRA, IHRA? or an outlaw track? The timing lights may not be accurate, what was the mph? Is the air shifter auto? You may be shifting early, RichCraft1 is running 16-48 he is a 180 pounder, and running some of the fastest times around. wee

it was not a certified track, but there has never been an issue with the times being off. i had a hole in my airline so i was footshifting. the mph wasnt given either.. im thinking of putting my stock sprocket on back and seeing what it will run..

your as young as you feel imo............. i went to another track about 3 weeks before i ran the 9.6 with a 1.42 60 ft and here was a slip....
60ft-1.59
1/8- 6.16 @114
1/4- 9.54 @ 144

that night i had the same set up as last sunday besides my airshifter was working, i had a full tank of gas, and i had about 12psi in my tire... the other night i was running about 15psi..

Whatever is wrong is happening on the first half of the track for you. Picking up 30 MPH, the bike is performing excellent on the back half so I would rule out any worries about HP. Try to figure out if it is within the 330 or beyond. If your 330 times are slower than 3.8-3.9 my guess would be that you are spinning, short-shifting, or its your clutch. If you are not already, try using a shift light to eliminate any short shifting even if it is the factory one. Also, have someone stand at the line and listen for your tire breaking loose. Finally, when you make the 1-2 shift does it carry the front wheel? With that gearing if it is not then your clutch is probably slipping or your springs have weakened.
