What chain to use?

Just purchased the roaring toys extensions and was wondering what chain people were using and how many links. Who has the best deals. Any info would be great.

Mark you can ride on the street with it but you will have to adjust it more then a o ring chain and it will wear out quicker as well. And if riding on the street lube it more often then a o ring chain.

thanks, I've been riding with it a little, seems to need adjusted more often. I'm loving those extensions. Going to the track Thursday.

Does anyone know how much power an O'ring chain actually absorbs at speed?
I have been thinking about some race chain for when I need to replace my bikes original chain. Every single bhp counts.

at top speed probably 2-4 rwhp is lost due to friction of o ring,
If your going that distance then don't forget to remove he air fliter, MR9 or U4 fuel, 0 weight oil, 50 psi in the frt tire, remove 1 frt disc, lighweight seat, and ceramic wheels brgs!

I remember a question on Schnitz's old forum - somebody asking how much faster he'd go in the quarter going to a non-O-ring chain. Ryan responded that after the burnout, the chain is hot and it doesn't make any difference. YMMV, I guess.

I won't be doing a burn out for top speed events. Have already modded filter and use 5w30 Rock Oil Synthesis XRP fully synthetic.
Your right Dubious, attention to all the small details is what makes a winner. For top speed events good aerodynamics is as important as engine power, I'm looking for a seat and tank from a written off bike so I can cut them down and tuck in some more.

Sorry if this is off-topic.

Bob why dont you buy a catalyst seat and use it. You sit waaaay lower in the bike and i'm assuming the aero's would be better....i'm not a top speed guy so i'm guessing. I just bought a used seat off ebay for $135 believe it or not that's alot cheaper than i can get at dealer cost. You could also switch to a 525 conversion if ya wanted for a little less weight.

Now to the post.....I use a ek530drz....good chain. Lube it often and check your tension, and you'll be golden.
