I did mine at 15 and was getting ready to do them again at 30. The manual says 15 for US and Can and I think 2- for the rest of the world. Wait until you get close to 15K then if all is running well go for 27, your bike will tell you soon enough.

bigdtd - if I still have my bike at 15K I'm letting Chris Murphy over here do my valves (unless smokin' wants some business!)

i am going to pull the valve cover around 15k and measure lash. i have always done this on my other bikes and often have found lash to be within specs and no adjustment needed. if adjustments were needed then i would let the dealer do it because of the cost of tools and shims. i will probaly bite the bullet and do all the work on this bike myself from now on. i had the radiator replaced at dealer cause insurance was paying for most of it. first time iwent to wash it i found the fairings not installed correctly and hardware missing, then when installing radiator guard found coolant overflow bottle not secured. the bolts fell on the ground when i removed the fairing, i found two other bolts missing all together and the lower mounting bracket was bent all to hell. i love my baby too much to have her done like that again. glad i didn't have those ass- fucks touch my tires or brakes!

just had mine done @24000 kilometers[15 k miles]..every one needed shim adjustments--I've put another 6000 k on since and she seems still to be OK...running fantastically! I did notice a big difference right after the service...

Let that be a lesson folks. If it aint there bike, they dont give a shit. I dread when someone else has to work on my bike. Most of the clowns at the dealer could care less. Sad story.
