It was a great all around sportbike for the street...nothing was exceptional, but it just seemed to do everything well for the street.

The early bits are embarrasing so I make it short
1983 Vespa 50 ( yep, 6'1")
1984 Lambretta 150
1985 Lambretta 200 chopper (4'long forks)
1990 Yamaha XT 250 (dog)
1992 Honda VF750 Sabre (lovely apart from the plastic electronic display casing snapping every 5000kms)
1994 Yamaha FZR 1000 (give the ZX14 a run for it's money)
1996 wife gave me so much grief I sold it
2005 got a new wife and a KawasakiZ1000
2006 ZX14 (absolute ducks nuts)
Tend to get bored with bikes and not keep them long, there's always something better. Been looking again with open mind. For the life of me, I can't find a better bike than my 14.
Power, looks, single or pillion comfort nothing comes close. The Hayabusa has it, but look at it. Can't make strawberry jam out of pigshit!

a 81 kz750 ltd which i bought for 500 bucks. Everyone made fun of this bike. They said i looked like prince in purple rain. It was a good bike to learn on. I rode the crap out of it. I sold it and a month latter. It was on the front page of the paper. A rookie rider hit a old bonnieville head on. The bike was stuck in the car. Thats something ill never forget seeing.

After that all Kawi's until 1st new street bike which was a Honda VFR 800 in '02. 14 is the best all around bike I have ever ridden or owned. Others maybe do a particular thing better, but all around nothing better....for now.

Here's my 1st bike. I probably don't need to mention what it is because most of you know by looking at it, but it's a 2001 ZX6R. It had 3800 miles on it when I got it and 20,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. I don't think they made many of the yellow ones. I got alot of complements when I rode it. I traded it in on my 14. I miss it, but the new one makes up for it

1973 Suzuki TC 125 2stroke... great little bike had a dual range trannie Lo-dirt / Hi-street.
I got into lots of trouble on that bike..... I grew up in a (then ) small Chicago burb. The city put in a bike trail through town. We kids on dirt bikes used it a super hwy out of town and a way to ditch cops in town :d
The next year they bought a 74 CB 750 as a cop bike (to patrol the bike trail) and such. One day after a week of solid rain we hit the trail to get out of town and go muddin... So here come Johnny Law on their brand new 750 on our ass. We could not lose him on the paved trail so off-road we went... It was real wet and muddy... he sank that thing to the floor boards :d .... and then had to suffer the roosting we all came back to give him.

2003 Lime Green ZX12. I went to the Zook dealer to buy a 2003 Copper busa...((with about $9K in my pocket...all $100 bills.))
They ignored me until I lifted it off the kickstand.
I showed him my wad of cash and told him to kiss my ass.
Fell in love with the Lime Green 12....shopped around for a better deal and came back about a week later and bought it.
I'd like to give a big "Thanks" to that Zook dealership in El Paso Texas. If it wasn't for them, I'd be one of the other dozen owners around here with a copper busa.
They still treat people like shit and sell a LOT of bikes...I just dont get it. Kinda like the harley dealership here that ass-rapes people on the cost of a new harley...and still walk out with a grin.

1987 250 Ninja. 2 great memories: Guy on a dualsport grabs my girls ass, talks smack to her then blasts down a dirt track when I confront him. I chased him for over a mile OFFROAD before he finally wrecks. Heh heh a most satisfying "lesson" was taught to him. 2nd memory: met the '88 California reigning SuperSport champion running around a traffic coned course the local Porsche club set up (really really tight 1/8mile), so i started chasing. lapped him after 15 laps. He accused me of cutting the course 'till his friends came to my rescue. He bought pizza and soda (I was 19 so no beer damn him lol). He was amazed at how a 6'5" 200 pound guy could flog that 250 Ninja so hard.

First bike was a Sears-type automatic pile of junk with a squeeze lever throttle. It was probably a 3.5hp or 5hp Briggs engine, or maybe Tecumseh - I don't think it even had suspension! A year or two later my dad got me my first real bike - a brand-spanking new 1979 Suzuki DS80 from Brothers 3 Suzuki in Miwaukee (where I grew up). That was the start of a nasty little addiction known as moto-madness. My ZX-14 is my 27th motorcycle!
