the 14 has loads of torque. only the largest twins produce more but have much lower horsepower ratings. look in columns and read "torque- the ? you didn't ask"

is that before or after they get the ecu reprogrammed due to the recall. 4-5 sec delay after you crack the throttle at 4-5k.

At least I'm going to get the AFR on this damn thing straight across the board, something the factory didn't seem able to do, according to the various stock dyno's I've seen.

umm, the factory settings go very rich on the dyno above 8000 rpm to accomodate the ram air.....strange that yours dyno'd all over the place???? Do you have the printout to share with us?

no it's the '07 r1 which has drive by wire throttle. apparently they didn't spend enough time field testing

hey ojref, we need to get together oneday and run our bikes together for couple of roll ons and see how they compare. i have brocks mega and pc and no flies.
that is when this son of bitch weather permits RAIN....RAIN.... RAIN ....

I ride with a friend who owns a stock zx14, and my fly less smeg lowered 14 absolutly rocks compared to stock.... I walk away from him any time any where, we tried roll ons from 2500 rpm, 5000 rpm and 8000 rpm,
standing start drags, and even roll ons in 6th at 260 km/hr and the stocker absolutly gets stomped EVERYTIME. huge difference!
The 260 km/hr roll ons were the most impressive though.... when his seemed to slow in accelleration at 280, I pulled past him like he hit the wall bouncing off 300 k!

Then I rehooked the speedohealer and put the 16 tooth on and he was ready to trade his bike in... He thought he bought a lemon or something was wrong with the bike.......
Poor Mike! I had to tell him why LOL....
Liters and Busa's on the other hand .... I just ley them cry!

I also have a friend who owns a stock 05 R1, except for gearing changes, -
geared for about 160 mph top speed-1 frt and +2 rear.
He weighs 145 soaking wet, and i'm 190.
At the time my zx14 had stock gearing and brocks smeg no flies.
I stomped him thoughly everytime, and by a dozen bike lengths or more.
He was very surprised, as he claimed to beat stock zx14's everytime they lined up... and i would tend to beleieve him.

don't knock the stock R1, on a track it'll devastate the 14's world.

You should be able to pull him from 4th gear in a roll on, maybe sooner if he's not geared. I weigh 220 pds and a good friend of mines weighs 150 pds. He has a 05 Gsxr 1000 with 1 down in the front, one up in the back, so he's geared good for the bottom end and he's one of the best riders in this area. When we do 2nd gear roll-ons, I'm with him till about 4th gear and then that's when them cc's start to kick in and I start to pull him from there. He hates when I bring up the 70 pd weight difference, cause he knows that if we were the same size and he wasn't geared, I'd pull him in every gear. He's now talking about getting the "08" Busa. The Gsxr is stronger than the R1, so you should be pulling the R1 easy as long as you are clutching and shifting at the right time and your bike is running good. You may have a A/F problem. R1 ain't got a chance against the mighty 14!

played with a 07 cbr1000 last weekend, he might as well brought a knife to a gun fight. i have 60 lbs on him and out pulled and out cornered him to the point it was getting boring. anyone getting skunked by a litre bike needs to fix their bike, lose 200lbs, or learn how to ride. whichever the case may be
