I was checking the archives to find some info on the race vs street bmc filter. I know the race is supposed to flow a little better. do you think that will mean a pony or two more. I remeber when bmc came out with their filter for the zx12 that was a hot debate. Anyone have any insight

I have one of those Muzzy Ignition Advancers for sale if anyone wants to buy it. Installed for 4 races and removed, mint condition. $60.00 shipped for the first person who sends me a PM.

Also, got my BMC in today, fits like a glove. And got my buddys coming in tomorrow, both from Schnitz!! Thanks Ryan!!

I only had it installed a short time. Its mostly to help tune bikes with NOS. I don't ever plan on running NOS, so I took it out. I could use it now, but to advance, you have to add the right amount of fuel to avoid detonation, and I'm not one to be tuning the bike. I just like to go to the track and race. I rather just run stock and not worry about adjusting anything.
I had installed it and advanced a few degrees, but never added the fuel. My fault I know. So obviously I didn't see any gains. Would work great if I knew how to tune.

Nothing wrong with it though.

I'll get with Ryan on this and see if he wants to do some testing on reg vs race vs no filter with my bike and let you know.

I have not tested the filters... Everyone of them we've received has gone right out the door to waiting customers.

If I had to guess, I would say 2-3 horsepower gain max over stock filter.

Just ordered a standard BMC from Schnitz for the Ninja II. I've had BMC filters on other bikes and I like them better than K&N. The BMC's seal very well due to their silicone construction.

The K&N seals with a rubber seal, which is as good as the bmc. I believe the BMC and K&N are 50/50, and neither is better than the other

Depends on what you define better as. For instance- a K&N will show NO hp improvement on a stock busa motor on a dyno where as a BMC will show 3hp. Done the tests, I know. So in my opinion, if your going to spend money on a supposedly performance filter, why buy one that flows no better than stock?? BMC is the better choice. And by the way, My BMC race filter arrived today.

I find it almost impossible that the K&N has no more airflow than the stock filter. I would like to see the dyno results on a k&n and a REGULAR, not race bmc in the same bike, side by side. If your talking a RACE bmc, it is thinner, and almost foolish to run on the street with todays air quality. That would also be an unfair comparison compared to a K&N which is guaranteed for both HP gains, and filtration

V2 are you a member of gixxer.com? There have been many dyno test over the years on Gixxers with the K&N, test showed the K&N lost hp over stock. wee
