38mpg... If I use the bike computer.. it is 34.9mpg. I ride either to and from work.. or I have my wife on the back.. so I am not really able to ride it like the bikes when I was 20-30... but I do use the lower end power quite a bit...

Consistantly 37 mpg both bikes. Combinded riding city and highway. Inlight of dyno mapped, I still believe their running a tad on the rich side

General twisty backroad riding I average around 33 mpg. On the hiway at 80 mph (indicated on speedo which is really 74 per my GPS) I get around 37 mpg (5th gear running as I rarely use 6th - 6th actually drops my mpg).
Speedo is approximately 8% optimistic but the odometer is accurate. The odo must be accurate by U.S. Federal law. Thus the indicated mpg in your gauge should be fairly accurate. As I noted above, the GPS indicates a lower mph than the speedometer (by 8%). It matches the speedo on two of my cars dead nuts. Conclusion is that the Kawi speedo is 8% optimistic, which is pretty typical of most motorcycles.

ZX14 mileage...
I get 31-34 around town and 37 on the road. I have tried all grades of gas. Smokin is right it runs best on 87 and I get slightly better mileage on 89. That said, it all depends on your wrist. Hammer it and be happy to get something in the 20's.
For the record I got 37 mpg yesterday riding back home from South Florida in the worst rain...ever running 80-85 most of the way in the soup. I did see alot of 100+ mph on the way down in the sunshine at still got 38? It's literally downhill heading south so a slight elevation advantage and I had still air and empty roads. Hendry County is a beautiful thing....

My bike was still stock when I was rolling from Daytona to New Orleans area returning from Bike Week between 90 and 110 mph. I averaged 40 mpg. 200 miles from fill up to fill up and taking on 5 gallons each stop. I rolled until the EMPTY light flashed and pulled of at the next exit. Funny thing was I was within 2 tenths of 200 miles at each fill up. No telling what kind of mpg I'm getting now with a few mod's and a pipe!

25MPG for me, but with the gears and the way I ride (need a new chain after only 22K KMS), I'm not surprised at all...my 10R still gets almost 35MPG though...

About the same as my 3300 lb Nissan Altima with a 3.5 V-6 - 35 to 40 on the highway. (Imperial Gallons our gallon is 160 onces versus the US gallon of 128 onces.) Granted the bike has way more performance, it still seems crazy when when you compare the weight and engine size diffference betwen the car and bike.

don't know and don't care, have never used trip and don't know what the buttons do, what i do know is she power wheelies easiest on 87 octane, riding on rural twisty roads i almost never see fourth gear, and that "fuel empty" message comes on alot
