We had no expectations that we would qualify. The first run was the first time the bike ever turned a wheel. We did not check weight before the run because we were not sure it would make it all the way down the track. Ryan left the line very easy and short shifted all the gears to make sure everything worked and that the bike was safe to ride the time was 8.12. On the next run Ryan tried to launch and encountered clutch problems. We discovered that we need to redesign the clutch.[/quote

rob what are your expectations now? is this bike going to come around soon?

isn't it funny how when HD decided to get into NHRA pro-stock the NHRA gave them any and every thing they asked for to get them in the field.
Now that Muzzy and Kawasaki are trying to introduce new technology ( the late model technology nhra says they want for the 4-cylinder bikes!!) in two attempts they have not been given the same assistance. maybe KHI should lobby for official motorcycle of the nhra, or maybe try to buy them, and back out at the last minute once they get what they need!! Why would he waste money on that? That is obviously not the market he is going after. All of his developement is for bikes that can be ridden on the street. The cost benefit analysis on Muzzy's pro stock machine must have a very large, red, negative NPV on it. And unless the NHRA gets their heads out of their @$$ and supports him and his new technology, then it's going to become the Harley-Buell(S&S)-PSM league.

I'm not a Rob hater, though I question some of his ethics from things he's posted on this site. I do appreciate what he's done for the motorcycle industry and that he's one of more talented tuners in recent times jumping from road racing to drag racing and having great success at each. It seems like Brock has become a real thorn in Muzzy's side, hence the no PSM comments. That tells me that Brock has done a great job at making competitive pipes and racing gear, customer service, and is probably on the verge of exceeding Muzzy's market share. I went to the AMA Dragbike race at Indy this past weekend, and there were more people running Brock's exhaust than running Muzzy's.

To each their own....they both make great equipment, I choose to go with the better customer service and integrity.

this isn't a slamfest, i would just like to know what the current situation is with the kawasaki pro stock bike. it sucks to watch the races each week and the only kaw in the field goes out way early or doesn't show up. it would be interseting to me to know whats going on and if the problems are fixable. i'm excited to see new technology entering the pro stock scene and really appreciate that rob is doing it for kawasaki, i would just like to hear some updates. plus i want to see those cheating twins get smoked.

Slates, I think you hit the nail on the head. He does it because he loves the sport and Kawi. There is no other reason to race. Guess that's why I have my old tired ZX-12.

Its not funny, its how it happened. It happens in every class. Its happened in Stock Eliminator. Companies lobby like crazy, then get what they want in the rules, then one of thier cars goes to the top.

Think of what would happen if someone was to lobby hard enough to take the delay boxes from the field of sportsman bikes..........., OMG, the field would triple or quadruple, and be full of street bikes, and making more money for the industry.

"First one" doesn't mean jack diddly. We do not know what their development, testing and distribution lifecycles where.

As far as we know, Muzzy could have been in development 6 mo's before Brocks and had a longer testing phase and that Brocks had shorter cycles.

The only time that counts is the ET on the track.

Everything else is just fluff.

Who cares if Brock has a PSM or not.........

VH makes these new pipes for the busas, but they don't run a PS Busa. There is a reason for it.........., there is no replacement for displacement.

NHRA should have never allowed those crazy cases they build those motors out of. The bad thing is, half the harley riders I know, think those are real motors, which is exactly what HD wanted.

Spidermans bike is a totally different world. Its not an apples to apples comparo. Thats like comparing John Forces motor to Jason Line's.

I know I should stay quiet and go on my way, but I'll post some comments here anyway.

First off, I'm still very excited and eager to get back on the bike and the entire team looks forward to seeing the bike competitive and winning rounds soon.

I know Rob has promised to keep everyone updated on the progress, but he has a good excuse. Rob's family is going through a difficult, medical time right now. They are in my mind everyday and we hope for the best.

As far as the bike and engine program, we have a lot of things in the works right now and are looking at some issures with electronics and chassis. This is time consuming and the team is working hard to find anything they can. Even at 14,000 RPM, 3-4 horsepower is hard to find.

Coby Adams is a great guy and a personal friend of mine. I stopped by his shop on Friday while my wife and I were in the area. Got the tour and the whole deal. I seriously doubt Coby would be any farther along with this project than we are at this time. It's just that difficult... Besides, how many of these engine builders do you see racing a modern 4 valve production engine in NHRA Pro Stock... ZERO!!!

And of course it does not help to bash anyone about something you know nothing about... Check your facts, then post.

Ryan, Thanks for the update. I am excited about seeing the new bikes (especially the 14) running prostock. It helps to hear or know what's going on when you have to talk to your buddies about the races. Thanks for your involvement and all my best to Rob and family as well. Your input is valued on this board.

Ryan,

Our best wishes are with Rob and the family at present.

The ZX14 Pro Stock Program is awesome and one that Team Muzzy can be proud of. It's setting the scene for the future of Pro Bike racing. Getting current model bikes out there.

All the best..

Ryan,

Please let Rob know everyone at baddazz.com has him and his family in our prayers.
I know that you and Rob will get things sorted out and be in the winners circle. I have no doubts that Team Muzzy will dominate. Rob would have never got the ZX14 project going if he didn't know it would work. Cudos to all involved.

If it were they way to go, people would be racing busa motors.........

George Bryce, the pro stock god, said it years ago, you cant win with a 4 valve right now until they change the rules, the two valve motors are just too big.

I would like to see late model bikes out there, just like everyone else........

But, if you are down even 5 mph in this class, its over, and from what I have seen in qualifying, they are down more. MPH at the finish is HP. I dont know what they are 60 footing, but even if they did 1.00, other bikes will drive around at the 1/8 or 1000 ft if you are down on hp at the top. Maybe Rob could lobby for a larger weight break.........
