Some times they just need to be embarrased.
One followed me through town last night and when I pulled over for a smoke break he did to, but parked 200 ft away.
I remounted and parked beside him.
Young guy on new dyna.
I dismounted and told him im not discriminatory, I have lots of friends who ride hogs, (hardly ever ride together though... too slow) and proceeded to introduce myself.
Turned out to be a nice guy.
Talked about both bikes.
He'll probably wave next time!

I think sometimes they have small penis syndrome or sumptin. Too insecure to wave?
It don't matter what you ride... as long as you ride!

I wish nobody ever started the waving nonsense. It's stupid. I decided this after the many times I get stiffed after I throw the hand out. So I say fuck it. It just depends the mood I'm in anymore if I throw the 1st wave. But I ALWAYS return one. I think it's stupid that we have to focus on such a thing instead of concentrating on the road and focusing on what's in front of you or around you. A waste of our time if you ask me.

I wave most every time I see another rider (cruiser, sport bike, standard no matter). But every once in a while I will be in the midst of or coming up on cars, intersections etc. and another rider will wave and I happen to notice too late...////shrug......just happens.

I don't pay it any mind when another rider does not wave. I have no idea what is going on in there head/life at that moment. Maybe they are a snob and maybe they just were looking/focusing on something else at that moment. I give them a pass and don't worry about it.

By the by, I have had riders on every type of bike wave back and initiate the wave. Though, of those that don't wave back, many are on Harley's....I don't worry about it. Lots of more important things in life to get burned up about.

Just my opinion.

I wave to everybody.... except if I'm "too busy in traffic" then .... sorry. We're all out there getting the wind in our faces... It doesn't matter how we do it!

+1, if they don't wave back they probably didn't see you. Remember they have no visor to keep the wind out of their eyes and they are smoking a cigarette.

I'd have to say that more than half wave or nod. In fact if I'm at a light next to a hog there's always a mutual hi, how's it goin', etc, etc, for 30 seconds or so. My 2 cents: just wave or nod and be the better person.

also, on the 10 or 14 i always get waves from90% of sportbikers. when i ride my girls bandit 400 that number drops to like 40% of sportbikers. whats up with that??

I gotta admit that I'm tentative about waving to HD riders. I tend to wait for them. I'd don't think they wave to each other to be fair, 'em

The scooter crowd loves to wave back every time. But compared to the Harley crowd they go so fast sometimes its challenging.

Maybe there is a certain type of alleric reaction that people get when on top of those things making their hands to heavy to lift to wave.

I pulled up on a HD Dyna Glide at the light. I gave him a nod when he looked over, he would not even return a nod. So.. I figure screw him and did not think much more about it.

The light turned green and I hear him gun it and he pulls me about 2 bikes. So I pull the trigger !!

Boy.... was he surprised when I banged 2nd as passed him and the 14 does this nice long foot high power wheelie for maybe 200 yrds.

Next light he's all smiles and wanting to talk, F"him he got nuttin. Ya gets what ya give

I wave at everyone. Makes me feel gooood! I don't give a flying F*** what they're riding or even if they wave back. I figure if they're that much of a d*ck, I'll make 'em feel like one too. When we have a rally in-town, all the out-of-town tough-guy Harley riders (who trailer their bikes in and sleep in a nice hotel) will ride around in their tough-guy packs and refuse to wave back. I continuously wave at the whole damn pack. F*** 'em.

I don't hate anyone for what they ride. The whole thing is frankly absurd. -What a waste of perfectly good hate.

Well Tool Man, at least he wanted to talk.

I came across one of the mountain boyz around my way the other day and he guns pass me on his built chopper looking back and blipping the throttle. He's got the whole image( Tattooed up with the Nazi helmet and skulls all over the bike. Maybe a couple of teeth missin'). I admit, the bike sounded nice. The thing sounded like a truck.

So we get up to the light, and I proceed to tell him how nice his bike was. He continues to interrupt me by banging the throttle and ends it with a Huh? or a Wuut? Couldn't tell what the hell he was saying. I say, "Nice Bike. Who Built It?" He bulks up and says "I got friends. . . who know what they're doin'" real arrogantly. I'm like "okay".

So he backs up 3 or 4 times and starts launching the bike hard at the stop light. I'm saying to myself, "Look at this damn fool". The light turns green and he smacks it. And while he's tearing through the gears, he looks back and sees me cruisin' like I was riding a vespa. This dude slows down and starts whacking the throttle.

He stops at the next green light and waits for it to turn red. By then I'm pissed. I was having a lovely ride until this damn fool shows up. So back at the light, he backs up and launches a few times again. And challenges me. I'm like F**k It! I let him know, "Let's Go". It was like a ghost town. Nobody on the street as far as you could see (So I Thought).

The light turns green and he guns it. I rev it to six grand and clutch the hell out of it. I flew past him doing a nice little power wheelie and then banged it into second. Then I let off, set her down, and stopped at the next light. He pulls up with this look on his face like he had seen a ghost..

Me and my smart ass says, "Nice Bike". He answers, . . . . . . . . ."I THINK I FOULED A PLUG OR SOMETHIN'".

I was speechless. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the bike. He just got his ass and bike handed to him, and the only excuse he could come up with was . . . . . . ." I THINK I FOULED A PLUG OR SOMETHIN"! As I look to my left, I see people in the opposite lanes, in their cars cracking up! Including; yep . . . . . The Sheriff. Even HE was laughing so hard that he wasn't even fit to react to the situation.

So the light turns green and I pull off nice and slow while the guy was still talking about his damn plugs. I look in my mirror and he politely takes the next right, probably to go tell his drinkin' buddies how he "showed up one of those JAPYSUKI 600 BIKES.

What a day.

I Still Wave, No matter who it is.
