Now that Zook's new Busa is online...
How much longer will we have to wait for Kawi's response? Do their new bikes come out soon after Suzuki lists theirs or will we have to wait until like November?

Kawi is going to introduce an '08 ZX14 thats more aerodynamic, 15 additional HP with traction control and slipper clutch, 25 pounds less weight, and the seat design fixed!

That would be awesome! Of course in reality we know that it is unlikely... anyone know about when we could expect the announcement?

Yer all freakin dreamin...the 08 WILL NOT CHANGE, except for colors/paint etc. Doubt the 09 will be radically different; not enough demand for these hyperbikes to justify the $$$ they have to spend to effect changes every 2-3 years.

Response to what ?? We don't even know how fast it is ...Hell it's listed at 198HP with ram air and the zx14 is 197 with ram air ...The busa is 11 pounds heavier than the zx14 ...We have no clue what a pipe and P/C will do to the Busa ... Will it response to Mods like the zx14 ? Remember the 07 Gixxer claims of 175 hp and it turns out to be 157 and the zx10 is 159 .... Hell for all we know the new Busa might end up with less HP than the zx14 has now ...Smokin..

I wouldn't count on an extra fan either. They may need to revamp the cooling system design, but I doubt you'll see much there either, maybe some refinements? Nothing major IMO, but that's just my opinion...besides which, there's a post here on an extra fan...

Here's what I am curious about. The Busa's small modification was probably intended to keep it at a close second in drag speed rather than overtake the 14, but how was Kawi to know that the Busa wasn't going to come through with something more devilish than what they did? As for Kawi, I would think they would be tweaking the bike to stay ahead of the Busa. All in all, I guess I was hoping for some of the current issues to be picked-up on. No, I would not trade for a Busa for a fan, but it would be nice to see Kawi bring a surprise to the table.

i haven't seen any tests done on the 08 busa, are there any available? no......the 14 stands alone

Let's say that the Busa had 125 LBS TQ, as opposed to the ZX14's 114...Busa could then take the 14, no?

Do you think they used a totally stock 14(w/flies) to test against the busa developement?
The 'Busa2' will do 200mph bone stock....that's what the prospective buyers tell me anyway.
Kawi will probablly not answer for 2, maybe 3 years....if ever. If they do, hopefully it will be lime green.

I just got the new sport rider in the mail yesterday and it came with a mini-mag about the 08 busa. It has 2mm longer stroke (1340 cc) and 12.5:1 compression pistons with smaller diameter pin (18mm vs 20mm). A more compact cylinder head with the same size intake and exhaust valves. The throttle bodies are smaller and it says the injectors and ram air system style is borrowed from the gixxer 1000. The gearing is 18/43. I wonder if it's enough though? I guess we'll find out soon enough.
