The slowing down noise was remedied with a properly adjusted (not too tight) A.P.E. manual tensioner for me, as well as the loose slapping sound when I blipped the throttle after it was hot. Other noises I hear I think are fuel injectors and clutch basket. Kawis make noise for sure but sound like a goldwing in comparison to a dry clutched Ducati

Assuming that we have the same noise, if I just ignore it, does anyone know if it's causing any harm??

Mine did same thing. It always had a small knock sound at idle and a bit above. One day it got way worse, so bad I stopped riding it. Took it to dealer and they did warrenty work to replace the cam chain tensioner and clutch basket. This was after 13,000 miles of semi hard riding.

Hey Guys....ive got just over 1,000 miles on my 07 ZX14 and ive just developed a knock...or pinging sound,,,, i changed the oil...put the Brock S-Meg on...started it up & said....what's that tapping noise? Never had that before... at first i thought i was a exhaust leak at the head... nope... funny when it came back from the dealer with its first oil change at 600 miles...i didnt hear it then...and that was with the quiet stock exhaust...but now with a 1,000 miles the S-Meg & me changing the oil..i hear it ? i think i put oil back in it .....It lessens as it warms up.... havent really had it out much since ive heard it.... but i know it wasnt there before.. we'll all keep each other posted here,,,Thanks
