No need to worry about the 08 Busa
Word in from Vegas ( from the ZooK reps) New busa is an old Busa with new swing arm, new paint ,new brakes, new dash, 3 way switch for 3 different power levels ..Same old motor upped to 1340 cc that makes 198 at the crank .....
Seeing that the zx14 makes 197 at the crank stock ..No new busa is going to run off and hide from you ...Zook did just as i was thinking > Build a busa that matches the zx14 ...That is the same thing they did with the 07 gixxer Vs the 06 and 07 zx10 ..Zook got close to the zx10 hp and called it a day ....
The only question left is will the new Busa match the zx14 mod for mod??

Smaller with basically the same power I agree Mod for Mod they shouldnt match up those extra CC's really start to come alive when you let them breath

Head(s)?????? Cylinder HEAD singluar not HEADS plural. It has ONE CYLINDER HEAD.

radial brakes , catalytic converters, lighter wheels, and hopefully 50 lbs lighter than the zx14 as I heard.
drop the cats bump the performance like the 14, and still 50 lb lighter... sounds yummy to me...
Hopefully it got a face lift, getting olld in the tooth these days...

+1 - I know that Kawi has some real loyal customers, but I for one am very interested in seeing what they come up with. The battle between Kaw and Zook keeps both these corps on top.

So basically, the 08 Busa is going to match the 06-07 ZX-14.
Wonder if Kawi's going to bring something more to the party for the 08 model?

fifty lbs lighter than the 14 would put it awfully close to gsx-r1000 territory....
lotsa composite materials i suppose...

They are saying 20 pounds lighter not 50 ... I will believe it when i weight it ...lol...

FUCK the 08 busa and every other busa, I ride a 14 and will kick a zooks ass, And I rode a R1 that was kickin zooks ass. Kaws' will always be on top!!!

More leaking from Vegas ...Not 200 at the crank .... 198 at the crank ...Oh well it gets slower everytime more truth leaks out ... zx14 197 hp crank Busa 198 hp crank...
I bet when we see one on a real dyno and not some hyped up dyno it will be 169 at the wheel ( or less) lol... Just like the new Gixxer stating 175 hp and it turns out to be 157 hp......

you believe the reps ?? Hell they are still saying the old busa beats the zx14 .... All sale hype ....Most Busa owners still believe the zx14 is slower than the Busa... A few people have seen the 08 Busa in Vegas allready and now the reps are telling them '198 at the crank .... From 200 down to 198 ... I bet it gets a little lower when the real story comes out ..

I really wanted a bike to become available I HAD to have in my garage. hopefully the 14 will hold up another year 'cuz I'm not swapping for the 'busa that just isn't "all that".

Busa's have never really been all that. Just alot of hype and , people on the band wagon. You can believe when the new one comes out everyone is gonna claim its faster than the 14.

The Busa has never been all that? I am a busa and a 14 fan. I own a 14 currently.......the Busa is a remarkable motorcycle that changed the face of hyperbikes. Don't kid yourself, the Busa made history when it was first introduced and is still in the history books as the fastest production motorcycle.
