Carbon wheel tested

Well Bill did a dyno before and after carbon wheel swap and although dyno compensates for weight loss and there for shows no increase in hp power the time to distance still shows big.We went through the runs and put as distance and time. Stock wheel took 7.8 seconds to go from 3000 rpm's to rev limit and the carbon took just 7.4 seconds. Big change and more then expected from just the rear rim alone. An actuall roll on in the street would benefit another .3 from the front rim which in a top gear roll between the same power bikes and riders would be around 6 to 8 bike leangths in a tall gear such as 6th. Not to mention the handling increase and trick look. Plus you can always get at least half back if not more if you decided to sell them. Actually a bid lay out but you get alot. Its like getting a full pipe with tuning along with an ohlins shock and forks along with up graded brakes as it stops much quicker due to less rotating mass and then some carbon bling. So add them all up and its a pretty good deal along that you dont lose it all when selling seperate. If there intrest in the group thing count 1 more in if you can wait another week or so till my food stamps come. I told him to post dyno runs so others can see but what you will see is that when alligned corrctly it pulls rpm quicker and so much so in spots its like 8 to 10 hp gain cause its like gearing a bike shorter, same power but sooner in the revs. Add the handling ,braking and sick look and your sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention you need no tuning for the added power like you do for other mods such as pipe or Factory pro velocity stacks ! So no extra expense there. You might need to upgrade steering damper only due to much quicker handling.

The BST wheels I have seen around San Diego need air every few days.
Wish I could afford a set right now. . .

I agree that upgraded wheels on a bike are win-win all the way around, especially acceleration and braking.

I had seen that issue of air loss but with the DYMAGS wheels. Hopefully Bill will keep us up to date with that issue. And Bill wanted me to mention the roll on improvement he got with the carbons on his R-1 . I couldnt say for a fact as the last roll ons with him were a month or so ago but it did seem to have a almost 1 tooth up in rear type of jump on initial twist. I almost had to use full throttle just to stay ahead this time but for a yammy with his weight ( alot ) it did pick up revs quick.

how was your a.m. ride with the slow bikes??????????? I just put in a tank of 87 octane to help you stay closer. Hope this will keep you thinking positive about your 14. If need be I will put on that 30lb sand vest so we will weigh the same. Or at least close.

Well, one of the slower ones didn't make it today, I wonder (you) who (you) that (you) could've (you) been? (YOU!) I think my 14 walked the walk today! Wait till next week! You guys are not even gonna be close!

We actually tore it up pretty good today! Tommy managed to do 189mph with a flat rear tire! Scary!
