Header Glowing Hot?

I have the Muzzy full system.

I was riding last night and a couple of people that I was riding with said that my header was glowing red hot up next to the engine.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I know the 14 runs hot in general, but I would not think it would make my header glow in the dark,

Any suggestions?

My friend has a 'busa that we watch red hot glowing at night, but his headers are wrapped. And it only happens at a stand still.

Thanks for the response.

Do you think it could have to do with the tuning?

I am running a little rich right now on motor to compensate for the nitrous.

I used to ride an old Indian 4 back in the 50s, and the exhaust on that thing would get white hot at night. Get the spark cordinated with the throttle right and that thing would move....TB

Normal.. my wifes 636 does it, most do with aftermarket exausts.

Besides look where you are going silly.... I crashed because I was looking at my buddy's header, would sound really if you had to say it :P

I will let them know to keep their eyes on the road and off my bike. But hey! They probably couldnt help themselves on checking out my bike. They all ride gixxers and busas. j/k!

I have a PCIII. It has been dyno tuned just a hair on the rich side for the juice.

I figured that most aftermarket exhaust do glow hot.

I think maybe it is just the way our fairing is cut that you can see most the entire header that made it noticable.

Thanks for the input.

Glowing is normal, I noticed it on my brothers 14 last year and brought it up to Ryan one day when I was down there. He said he has had the pipes so hot on the dyno they almost look see through.

I have seen my 14 on the dyno' twice now and it gets to cherry red. Quite normal with aftermarket headers.

At idle cherry red headers can be signs of a lean condition. During dyno runs headers will get inherently hot and during a run this can happen(Get red). At idle to get cherry red, I'll usually throw alittle gas at it, & the condition ceases. I misread the initial question, thought he was seeing this at idle.

I haven't seen it on my bike yet but I would assume it does it on mine also. How else would the titanium blue like it does if it didn't get red hot?
