will not shift into 6th gear .
well last night i feeling kind of good got my 14 broken in good with 1500 miles on it and we had what we call in lower alabama is call out saturday. and there were about 60 bikes total that showed up and only two zx-14. and lets just say kawasaki was represented well with over 20 wins and only 2 loses and they were all roll ons.well as you can see i had the two losses.it was against 2002 super busa and we hit at same time around 70 mph in 2 gear and he jump out to a two bike lead on me. i caught him in 3rd, passed him in 4th, and was pulling away in 5th around140mhp and i could not get it in 6th gear for nothing and lets just say he handed my ass to me.

You sure you wernt already in sixth LOL just kidding I have no experience whatsoever with any problems like that, but I am sure someone here can offer some good advice and WELCOME to the board

I was thinking the same thing ...lol...lol... Why ? because i have done that myself ..

no it was in 5th for sure and when i slowed to about 110 i shifted but of coarse it was to late.

well the reason i stated the ? was because the other 14 rider has a quick shifter and said that when his air pressure drops to 100psi that his air shifter struggles to shift smoothly on several occasions had to foot shift. so i thought i would put that ? to the board to see if there with any other problem like this.

It happened to me twice at Bonneville. The top speed achieved was only 186 mph +/- which confirmed that I was only in 5th. For some strange reason, when you get into or near the redline in 5th gear, many times it won't go into sixth. I over came this problem by shifting into 6th way before redline.

Next time don't shift into 6th. You should hit the speed limiter in 5th.

the next time around i will do just that but it will be hard because i am trying learn to shift from the engine sound. i am trying to get use to this beast.
