Corbin Seat w/ sissy bar

Anyone have this combo for a passenger? By looking at it, I'm thinking my passenger may still have a tendency to slide into me and not even get the benefit of the back rest. I guess it would still make a good stopper for keeping her from sliding off the back though . . .

Actually, I think you would find it more satisfying if you were to slide into your passenger - but that's another story. Any other (non-comedic) opinions?

I have a Corbin with a backrest/glove-box. It works great, my wife says she has plenty of room and slides very little.

I love mine, but I got the snakeskin texture on the seating surface and it was very slippery at first, my wife hated it. I used a damp rag to spread a little bit of honey on the seat at first and that actually worked pretty well, it doesn't take much. A quick rub with some Mother's leather conditioner works much better than I thought too. It's great now though and I really like the backrest. I recommend picking some custom colors to give your bike some personality, it costs the same. Look for one of my old threads, I have a more detailed review.

The backrest is very easy to remove if you just insert it with a small amount of electrical tape on the shaft instead of securing it with the screw.

I am not happy with mine.
It would be a good set up for large people, but I am 5-8, and if I slide back into the saddle support, I'm in full tuck. The rear section is still sloped forward too much, and the backrest is too far away to be useful for my daughter, she is 5 foot tall. There is a gap 6 " long between her back and the back rest when she is hanging on to me.
I'm thinking it may be better with the grab handle , then she could slide all the way back and hang on to it.
Thats another $250 on top of the $900 I paid for the seat.
Additionally the fit is not so good. The seat pan appears to be curved too much and the latch mechanism is very tight after many attempts to adjust it. I keep put a slight twist in my key when i unlatch it...
Had to trim excess leather under one side of the seat pan so the front would clip in to the fuel tank tabs. The seam intersection between the bucket and passengerpad on the side panel of one side looks ugly compared to the other side.
The cover was loose, and seperated at the back of the rider bucket area when i pulled it out of the box.
Shipping was fast though!

It is meant for a rider over 6 feet tall, and passenger who is 5-8 or larger.
Ideally the passenger should be within 2 inches of the rider when leaning on the backrest.
My daughter hangs back there like a little flag with no support from the backrest ...

I would grade the product as a 6 / 10 for fit and finnish
a 8/10 for fitment of 2 larger adults
a 2/10 for fitment of 2 smaller riders
JMHO...

Good thing my credit card will cover the costs of returning, do to dissatisfaction.
