warm up bike first, turn off bike, pull side plastics with fins, front tank plastic, remove seat, remove tank bolts, prop up tank, remove the two silver airbox covers, this will expose the butterflies, using a fresh #2 magnetized screwdriver carefully unscrew the eight screws, i used a piece of wire shaped like a hook to fish the flies out. do not open the throttle during this operation, anything you drop in will be caught as long as you don't open the bottom set of butterflies. reinstall covers, tank, front and side plastics.
to remap plug computer into pc on bike with usb cable, start bike, slelect map, send map, turn off bike, unplug computer

KawRider,
I would start with Brock's Diary on the subject. As Steve said there is an abundance of information on the subject if you use the search feature.

Thanks bigdtd,
Steve I did use the search I was just trying to locate a write up with detailed instructions like bigdtd provided me and had no luck. So what it's a repost sometimes searching doesn't give the desired results. Maybe my search skills need work. Looks pretty easy regardless.
Thanks,

I had looked at the Brocks diarys a long time ago, but I forgot that he had some nice pics and instructions for fly removal. Im sure glad I posted my request for help instead of wasting lots and lots of time searcheng and searching. That's what I like about this forum, the helpful people.

? confused ?
the articles link in the above has nothing to do with Brock's diaries....
again... look at the menubar on your screen.... next to "HOME" is the link "ARTICLES" .. click on it and scroll down to the article about the low end performance of the ZX-14.

Once you get to the flies it seems a few folks had problems stripping the heads of the screws. The access plate hole doesnt allow for a straight shot at 1/2 of the fly screws. I just warmed the bike first and used lots of downward presssure and had no probs.

No I wasn't confused, I just managed to confuse you by responding to Red1 that told me to check out the Brocks diarys and you (who told me to check the articles) at the same time. Both pieces of advice were great.
