I did the same thing. But am not going to run the bike too hard without a p/c and new Brock system. Seemed to have awakened the beast. A buddy of mine says I went out and bought a raging bull. Now I've taken and kicked that raging bull in the nuts! I love it. I would almost put money on the fact that Kawasaki wanted us to remove those stupid things. Especially since the bike naturally runs rich. I think this is the way it was designed to run. Made me love it even more.

People just don't know what a beast it is until they ride it. My friends were amazed at the power too.

wondering that too...anybody have any trials and tribulations with warranty issues either.

I'm about to get my break in service done and I figure I'd remove them and remap once that is done.

Heh heh heh, Just took the bike out and really ran it since I took the flies out. This bike went from stupid fast to off the scale. You really don't realize how much your missing out on until it's done. The pull is absolutely amazing in the low range now.

Do a search on that, the majority opinion here is no; you'd need to remap.

Maybe that has something to do with the 16T & 43T sprockets you put on that thing. I'm getting ready to go that route just to see what it feels like. What percentage is your speedo of due to the gear change?

now off by 17-18% according to the GPS Steve, but I won't bother with the S/H to read 1/2/3/3/4/5 and no 6th...I just use the Speedo on my Zumo instead...works great. Top speed in now 167, but that's fine for me.

BTW, once you go there, you won't go back...ask me how I know this.

finally broke down and pulled mine tonight, what a difference and i didn't change the map yet! running brocks track map w flies in. switching maps in the am when i borrow a laptop. going to the maxton map or track map with flies out, what a beast even before mapping, will post after mapping, love the low speed wheelies, it is a real arm straightener.

Mapping won't change acceleration or speed noticeably, but will make your engine run cooler and last longer...

A lot of people argue that you go through that lean range too quickly to do any real damage, but when you're crusing I think it would be very wise to keep the rpm out of the lean range, at least over 5,000 rpm. Still, if there's any way you can afford the PC, I'd highly recommend it. It will add 2-3 horsepower if mapped properly with aftermarket exhaust and I think 7-8 hp if your bike is stock.

Anyone looking for the best bang for your buck should get a PC and pull the flies as your very first upgrade. It will do a lot more for a lot less $$$ than an exhaust.

i beg to differ, after the remap it really picked up. i was using both brocks track maps before and after, 93 octane amoco or sunoco
now running the no secondaries version, it really pulls harder and is smoother through all rpm ranges compared to no map change with secondaries pulled
two thumbs way up, brock your maps are spot on
thanks to smokin for s/w loading tips, start it up connect and load map, that was easy

Well, I did do a re map on my pc3 of course. The map was made for flies out, aftermarket air filter, and pc3 of course. But still had a low throttle sesponce. what really helped was that I manually made the low and mid range richer on my commander. it pulles so much harder. mayby because we live below sea level around here. Two leds up in low and mid range...!!!!

I have over 7xxx miles on my bike. Flies removed with stk exhaust. I do race it quite a bit and do some highway and street riding. I have not had any problems thus far but, I do notice that while riding in the city streets the bike runs hotter than most 14's, which is a result of not having it mapped. I am about ready to put a PC3 on it with flies removed map.

Ok, remember just a newbie here. Where do I get maps? And will someone please post a "Mapping the PCIII for Dummies Post"? I am still new to all of this stuff. All of my bike thus far were carburated.
