ET's @7000 adj altitude

Our track opened last Saturday here in Denver. After running 10.65 @133mph last season in stock trim, I ran some intereresting times on the first day with the Brock pipe,.PC and flys removed. The bike made so much more power down low that I couldn't ride it. It took three runs before I figured out that I needed to launch at 2500 RPM instead of 8000 RPM. My first runs with the new power were HORRIBLE.----11.3---11.1---and 10.59. I kept pulling dirtbike style wheelies and had to let the front end down which you know kills any ET. After backing down the throttle I managed to go 10.41-------10.39-------10.37------10.29-------and my best of the day------10.21 @ 140 mph. I know that these times are nothing compared to those of you who run at sea level but it is a major improvement for me at this altitude. Next time out out I'm going to lower the bike and strap the front end. I might even try the track map that Brock sent me. 9's? Maybe!

Try slipping the clutch to bring the frt end down , rather than backing out and getting back in the throttle. You loose much less time modulating the wheelie with the clutch than the throttle, and your ET even with a wheelie will show that.

IMPORTANT: Slip it, do not dump it, or it will wheelie violently again!

You don't have any air up there .....if it were me next time out i would pull 3% of fuel out on the high side of your P/C and see if you go faster or more MPH ... That map has to be real rich up there because it rich at sea level......

How much do you weigh? I live in alb. nm weigh 230 lb's with gear and the best i've been able to run is a 10.29@137.25. I normally average 10.40's at 135 with air density between 6500-8000 ft.

Not slammed stretched etc.

I'm guessing you weigh about 150-160 range?

We're pretty close in weight. I am about 20 lbs less than you. With full gear I weigh 210lbs. I think that you must be a better rider than I am because we're running almost the exact same ET even though I'm lighter.

Thanks Smokin. I may try that. Do you think I could get by with running oxygenated fuel and leaving the PC where it is?

If you ever take a vacation to Denver, Call me. I'd love to see someone beat the local track hero. He runs a stretched turbo Busa. Last Saturday he ran 9.59 @ 152. I'll put you up if you need a place to stay!!

You need all the air you can get at that density altitude. Obviously the air filter would be the first to go if you have a clean enviornemnt.

How much difference is there between Brock's track map vs street map? Are they pretty noticable gains?
