zx-14 transmission

Are there any difference between zx 14 06/07 tranny and clutch? I was heard that kaw might have did what they've done to the zx-10 to keep it from coming up so easy in the lower gears. my buddy's stock 06 comes up very easy and has more torqe before 6000 rpm.his bike was made 4/06, mine in 9/06.mine is classified as a 2007. His is a 2006.

The 06 10R had a complete redesign of the frame and engine mount. It also had a larger flywheel. the engine was mounted higher in the frame and slightly further forward. Engine torque develops at much lower RPM's on that motor rather than all at 7K RPM like the previous models. These were all contributing factors in keeping the front end down on the 06. Yes; wheelies on the 06 are harder to achieve at lower speeds than on the 05, much. Without clutching the 06, it's much more difficult to get the front up than on the previous models, but at speeds, that all changes anyway. I don't and won't believe that the 07 14 has anything different than the 06. At only 3500 RPM, my 14 with the flies out will not stay down. With the sprocket change, it won't stay down at any speed in 1st 2nd and 3rd. I'd bet the 07 is identical. Have you tried both bikes yourself, or did you just see him pop it up on his, while you tried to pop yours up? All about the rider. Wanna see her pop up? Remove the flies and watch her lift fast, but be careful. My 14 comes up way faster than my 10R. Fuck, it even pops up faster than a K5/6 Gixxer, which is known to come up faster than any liter bike around, because of the short wheelbase and BIG low end TQ. Don't waste your time trying to get her up unless you remove the flies, because without clutching under 4.5-5K, she won't budge. Once the flies are out, she'll come up under 4 easy. Does your buddy have his flies in or out?
