Chain adjustment...
I did a couple of searches, and while I found plenty of threads about what chain to get to replace the stocker, I couldn't find what I was looking for, so I'm posting up.
Ok, I've never had a rear set up like this. On all of my previous bikes, there was an adjuster bolt you could turn out or turn in to adjust the slack in the chain WITHOUT having to loosen the axle bolt. According to the manual I have remove the cotter pin and loosen the axle BEFORE I can take up chain slack. Anyone done it a different way? Do I absolutely have to loosen the axle?

Yes you do have to loosen the axle. Before you turn the 12 mm axle / chain adjustment bolts.

Yeah, there's little notches the axles blocks (whatever you call them). Get those to match up with the notches on the swingarm on both sides. That puts your rear tire inline with the front, supposedly. That's what I go by. I've adjusted mine twice so far, I've got 2000 miles on it.

Simply pull the rear axle back until the proper tension is reached and the chain is straight from sprocket to sprocket - forget those notches.....

Those notches are not usually aligned correctly. Not sure why. I usually put a wrench on both sides at the same time and turn the bolt even amounts until I have the chain slack correct.
