Smokin' I've got a few questions to ask....

I am asking publicy since others may wanna know as well.

1. Are you still using the stock clutch springs or upgraded ones?

2. Do you think a Shinko U-soft 200/50/17 would work o.k.? The reason I ask is that I can get one for $80 brand new from the place that I bought my bike from. They don't have any 190's in stock.

3. I may have to make a pass on the stock Battlax, so what tire pressure would be a good start on those?

4. Do you use a none O-ringed chain? If so, which one?

5. Do you run with your mirrors still?

Thanks man. I appreciate it.

Maybe I can help with some of his answers until he gets here.

1. Yes, he tried the heavier springs but had issues with the clutch grabbing to quickly and slowing down his 60ft. Even only changing a couple springs didn't work as well as all stock ones for him.

2. It will be fine but they do weigh more (how much? don't know) I would go 180 if you can get that instead. That will probably be your fastest tire of the 3.

3. I would say 35lbs. and if you have an issue spinning, lower it down 5lbs.

4. No, I am pretty sure he uses the good 530 RK X-Ring chain. I know he doesn't run a non-O ring.

5. No mirrors anymore

Glad to help Brent, you can stay in bed Lee. I gotcha covered

He's running a 190 on the rear and I believe he is also running a non o-ring chain.

Did he go to Non O-ring? I guess I didn't realize he did that. Makes sense since he really doesn't ride it on the street.

1....stock clutch and springs
2.....The 200 will work but it's heavy ....You can get a 190 for 118.00 TYD from spencercycle ...Some zx14 guys are using a 180 and it is lighter that the 190 ... But for 80 bucks i would grab that 200 and run the snot out of it ....
3....If you are stock wheel base by all means use the stock Battlax !!! If you are longer that stock use the shinko..I ran my battlax at 35 to 36 psi at the track..
4... I have run a 530 zzz xring and run 8.80s i have a DRZ2 non 0ring on the bike right now and i still run 8.80s .... The DRZ2 needs more cleaning and more lube but cost a hole lot less ... If you ride on the street alot don't get the none Oring chain ...
5... I have mirror block offs...
Hope that helps ...Smokin....

Since you are running non o-ring, I have a question. What do you use to lube the chain, and how often?

Belray .. it's the stuff that looks white when you spray it on the chain ..... I lube it everytime i go to the track..I clean it with WD40 about every third trip the track... I don't use the bike on the street anymore, if i did i would lube it before every ride ..Smokin...

Thanks Tonytooth and Smokin' I appreciate that mang. Since you said Spencer cycle has them for that price, I will call tomorrow for the 190 u-soft Shinko. I do ride on the street alot and without a doubt would not use the none O-ring chain then.

I will tell you man, that damn airshifter is the shit for real. The bike now seems to want to come up when I shift now rather than the way it was when I foot shifted it. I really like it now.

Thanks for all of your help Smokin and guys. I plan to take this biatch down the 1320 soon.

Hey Brent my bike was given to me with a 200 u-soft and I took it just because it was free. It probably is slowing me down. If so I cant wait til its time for a new tire, maybe I'll hit the #'s I'm looking for with ease.
