Zx14,hayabusa or gsxr 1000 ???

So this is my first post, since im not made out of money,i can only purchase one of these bikes brand new,and i love them all for different reasons,im trying to pick between a zx14,a hayabusa and the new gsxr1000...
Id settle it by taking them for a test ride but i they obviously wont let me since they dont give me my full licence till early next year...

I love the zx14 cuz its the latest an greatest in technology,( you want to get what you pay for )
I like the hayabusa because il never forget the slogan on the billboard when i was like 16 "fastest predator on earth" and i always said i want that bike,i have a soft spot for it so to speak...
.But its getting abit old, been the same since 99 pretty much.
And the gsxr well,in my opinion out of the 3,its the best looking, and for the money its state of the art etc...

I dont know what to get,and i dont want to regret it either, long distance riding comfort isnt a priority anymore since my lady fell of a cliff an died, all i know whatever im getting it will be black.
I dont want to start another flame thread, since ive been lurking on here for a while now,an just signed up,but i want the fastest bike in a straight line.
The gsxr should be the fastest since its got the best power to wieght ratio (from memory)
But hard to put the power down due to the shorter wheelbase....

I also like the busa cuz of the aftermarket support,i live in australia and from what
i can tell we havent gone as far as playing with zx14's as yous have..

Dont burn me,its my 1st post fellas haha, I just need help in making a decision before i splash the cash...

The feeling a bike gives you though is something else.
I say straight line, cuz like some of the others here,il be hitting the quarter mile with it and i prefer to modify a factory bike that is more suited to the quarter mile, nothing too wild, just respectable, like smokeys bike,is that such a bad thing, god!

Unless you have a lot of experience, I wouldn't buy any oft them.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but most people on here would
rather be honest with you and maybe save your life.

None of these bikes are recommended for someone who doesn't have much
experience. they will get you in lot of trouble before you realize it.

If you have a lot of experience then buy the ZX-14. Probably won't get any other answer here.

I talked to a local salesman recently who sold the Busa and the 14. I asked him how he qualifies someone before selling them either bike. He told me about a 19 year old that came in the store several months earlier and wanted to buy a Busa. After some lengthy discussion on riding experience the salesman shook his head and said "I'm sorry". The kid left the store in a huff.
Several weeks later there was a big bike crash not a quarter mile from the dealership. The biker had hit a divider in the highway going super fast and died immediately. Well, we know who that driver was-- the same kid that he had turned down weeks earlier. He had gone to another town and bought a Busa from another dealership.

Nemesis I'd recommend something smaller and work your way up.

Busa old news and it will take a 1397 motor to keep up with the zx14 ..The 07 Gixer is a killer for sure ...But still doesn't have the torq of the zx14 .....I would pick as followed zx14 , 07 1000 gixer , Busa ....

Ya what he said !!!!

Nemesis.... Could you PLEASE detail in depth your riding experiance. Everyone here is concerned as to why you want the fastest of the fast as a bike for yourself.

All three are EXPERT ONLY bikes. This is not to put you down!! Riding is a skill that most all people can learn, but it takes seat time and learning in a classroom or through your more experianced peers.

IF you take all the right steps you can have YEARS of riding fun, instead of a few seconds of final life in review.

We dont say the things we do cause were assholes, but because Ive seen too much guts, spilled blood, protruding broken hips and ribs, road rash, impalements, curbings, etc, in person.

Either the gixxer 1000 or the 1400 can get you killed. Neither bike is purchased due to their claim to safety faim. Maybe one will be 1/20th second faster than the other in getting one killed....

I'm sure some will strongly disagree, but the 14 can be a great bike for beginners if you have some sense and keep the rpm's low. The flies work great as training wheels. The problem is that most males under 25 can't comprehend the fact that they can die, and therefore can't resist the urge to go too fast. It's not that the bike is too hard to ride, it's just too tempting to drive WAY past your skill level. Keep it under 6k rpm's for 6 months and you SHOULD be fine.

Other than that, if you want to drag race the 14 is a no brainer. Stay away from the 1000 if you plan on doing any long rides, over 1 hr. It would be very uncomfortable. Just don't expect to be able to throw around the 14 in turns like you would a 1000, but for it's size the 14 handles great.

I agree 100%.

As long as the wrist action is right, the bike is mild at low RPM, especially with the flies in. People say "start on a 600". Well look at the death stats on a Honda CBR600RR or F4, the 600 is as deadly as any bike.

Well heres my 02. My Bud rides a Busa, and we switch rides often. Busa is a great bike, but we both agree the 14 feels about 200 pounds lighter, has better brakes and ergos. For example we are leaving Louisiana tomorrow for Phonix, and are trailering. Reason is he wont ride the Busa on an extended trip because of the ergos. If you use some common sense I dont see why you shouldnt go for the 14, it is the all around do everything bike. The 1000 is to limited for my taste, and why buy old tech in the Busa. As for starting small, I call BS on that, even a Honda Rebel will kill you if you ride stupid......TB

Just the fact that the question is asked, puts doubt in the minds that already know.
I did not have to ask " what bike is best?"
I already knew my requirements and skills.
So... I bought the bike that I wanted.

Happily ever after

Really two different styles of bikes. The GSXR 1000 is light and you can find a healthy aftermarket of parts for it. Not the best setup for dragracing but despite the naysayers it wll give a Zx-14/Busa fits albeit it is a handfull except maybe the last 10-15 mph top end with the right rider.

The TQ of the 14 is so much betetr than a litre bike and pretty sure the 14 is more comfortable and better platform for dragracing top end stuff. The aftermarket is coming around for the 14 but Suzuki almost always has the best selection/following.

Rumors forever now a new busa will be out early release this summer but I heard that last year too.

I'm sure one of them gives you that special feeling when you see it on showroom floor thats the one i would buy all are good and fast albeit the busa design is old but no doubt they are no slugs and still cleaning up on the tracks

Rick

The 14 and the Busa are torque monsters and they both bite fucking hard when you twist the throttle. The Gixxer is a sick fast liter bike but is more tame by comparison to the other 2 as it has the power but doesn't deliver it hard at low speeds . As a 1st bike, I suggest you buy a 14 or a Busa, especially a Busa, as it's the most ferocious of all the bikes because all the TQ is completely unmanaged, unlike the STOCK (flies in) 14. Low RPM TQ is the hardest thing to handle on any bike, especially when you talk about 14's and Busa's. Removing the flies on the 14 nets even greater TQ numbers than the 14. Even with the flies in on the 14, the bike rockets at 6000 RPM like a jet engine...as compared to the 1000's where you literally have to wind 'em up to make em go fast (and they are very, very quick in the upper RPM ranges). Just my .02 worth. Ride safe whatever you decide. Don't mind 1BAD; he does this to everyone (but he's ok)...and I've been known here to be much worse too. Just ask around.:d

Sorry,
But, I agree with this post. I have a friend who is a salesman @ my local dealer, and he has many horror stories of inexperienced riders not even making it out of the parking lot or past the first light on the latest and greatest croch rocket they just had to have. Get some experience and take a class. My Son-in-law got around pretty good on his R6, but didn't even come close to passing the driving test.
