I read a few track tests on the the GSXR 1000, they liked it a lot. Street tests will be interesting. Don't think I would like to meet one on my mostly stock '14!

its like those micro cars that we played with as kids... only this thing is real and packs a knock out punch....I call it the real deal on 2 wheels. had it up to 5mph in the garage before I hit the wall....still waiting for spring and dry roads. my zx 1400 is ready to give it a run....just put new wax on her....must be 10mph faster now

I have o miles on it and the weather is still bad. it will be in A mode all the time. maybe we can get the flies out like the zx 1400. the ABC modes just makes it government correct. kawasaki should follow this ......and release the zx 1400 in the full power mode and pussy mode for all those that buy a top of the line bike and cant handle the power and respect these things for what they are

...yeah, I agree....I just read Motorcyclists review of it and they questioned the need for selectatble power modes, they even thought its was gimmicky...well my pea-brain tells me that its a good idea and good marketing....afterall, with all of the manufacturers making torque and horsepower unheard of just ten years ago, the problem will be putting that power to the ground SAFELY without looping it with the resulting carnage to bike and rider...especially in the hands of the unskilled (like me )...and they still have to sell some new and improved almost every year....horsepower sells, but horsepower can also kill in the wrong hands....so why not tout the high horsepower but make it 'selectable' so that even the unskilled like me can enjoy a new toy and hopefully build up to the high-horsepower as skillz improve....otherwise you might get a rash of crashes and next thing you know the NHSTA starts clamping down n HP Euro-style
...the aftermarket will find a way to defeat it anyway for the true heroes...and I don't fit as well on a 'smaller bike' as well aas I do on a 'bigger bike'

We dynoed one yesterday at my buddies house made good power almost exactly the same as an 07 10 the 10 made 162 RWHP and 81 Ft.lbs the gixxer made 158 RWHP and 84 Ft/lbs I think the Gixxer will benefit more from mods then the 10 Also the 10 had about 1400 miles the gixxer had maybe 800 (Both were completely stock) we are working on a way to make the mode switch store three different power commander maps we havnt gotten very far yet but in theory and on paper it looks like we can get it to work I will let you guys know I was quite impressed with this bike I put about 100 miles on it today my only complaint is that it doesnt feel near as GRUNTY in the low end as last years gixxer but It is pretty noticable the gain in the top end

The few road tests already published indicate that it is less grunty low down and makes a bit more at the top end by virtue of revving a bit higher. Almost certainly due to the new exhaust system. It would be interesting to see what the 07 GSX-R makes with a decent 4:1 system and dyno' set-up.
Performance Bikes (UK) found it a bit slower round the track than the 07 R1 but pointed out that the R1 was on Pirelli Corsa's while the Suzuki was on Bridgestones. The Yamaha maintained higher corner speed and the Suzuki pulled it back on the straights, suggesting that the Suzuki would be the fastest on equal terms.

the 14....gsxr 1000 is comfortable for 10 minutes.but what a ride.the 1400 is for the real world. its big super fast...comfortable and you can ride it all day and still walk when you get off it.I got the 1000 just to add to the collection.
